    Correct.
    As for LPowell, you must remember that very stable settings existed well before his patches.
    Most valuable additions had been made by Chris really.

    Currently the GH2 uses 24mbps bit rate for 1920x1080 24P AVCHD.

    Will it be possible to increase the GH2 bit rate, even a small amount (for example 30mbps)?

    Also, I've seen some SD cards do not support fast enough continuous data write speed.
    I've used Sandisk Extreme III 30MB/s SDHC cards without any issue on my EX1. Maybe these
    cards will work better, or have you determined the SD data write is not an issue?
    I ask since I saw it was an issue with my EX1 with different SD cards.

    PTool will also include some funny patches.
    Like ones that allow to tune mike volume inducator :-)

    Yeah guys please stay positive, and don't push too hard. V. did an amazing job on the GH1s. There is a massive amount of work that goes into these hacks, not forgetting all the time answering everyone, doing web pages, maintaining the site etc. And as V. says, a lot of people will have to help test tricky patches like bitrates & fps.

    That means... reliable GH3 hack, if it happens, would be ready in 2014 if we are lucky. Haha...

    I can hear Ka-ching on GH1 and GH2 resale values.

    It'll require big work, mostly from testers.
    I already said that Panasonic changed encoder behaviour.

    It was easy choice for me as I live in 24p country. I'm hoping for high reliability from 24p hack. 25p... who knows.

    You could wait two more years for GH3 hack.

    So you think stable 25p at a decent bitrate will be possible? Im contemplating buying a GH2 but am cursing panny for leaving it out.

    Hi again Vitaliy...

    Can you let us know what sort of priority repairing HDMI output is? I know that you have been working like a machine on getting SD card recording, but external HDMI recording is a very significant and valid solution for both higher bit rate and 422 recording.

    Thanks for the update Vitaliy, keep up the great work. I'm also curious about the 25p ability, but it sounds to me we should be patient - every small progress on the hack is a victory :)

    Yes, that's the question. Does the sensor actually allow native 25p output same as 24p mode? Or the only resort for 25p is tweaking the 50i mode?

    So currently no way of changing the framerate of the "higher bitrate" Cine from 24p to 25p? Rather than using the 60i 50i?
    I think if that alone gets cracked then thats one less thing for us PALestines to moan less about ;-)

    I think that you do not understand.
    First, progressive here means 30p and 25p.
    Second patches fail not because of SD card.

    Had been testing some more patches today.
    Including bitrate for different modes, progressive encoding in 60i and 50i modes, etc.
    Right now most patches work not extremely good as encoder changes seems to be significant.
    Progressive patches lead to card speed error after very short time.
    MJPEG 422 color patch leads to same distored picture as in G2.

    Despite all this problems, new PTool release is not far away.
    I think that it is better to use same old test oriented approach that we used in GH1 case.
