Potplayer works very well now with Cuda decoding. I will test Zoom player but I dont think it will play GH5 6k video with my computer.
You do not listen :-) Such system needs LAV decoder and proper tuning of it. As "common" things will work bad as they all tuned to QuickSync and mostly 1080p videos.
I have win7 and 6 years old AMD 6-core computer. No quick sync.
I have tried Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, VLC and Potplayer. I think these are the most common players in Windows. All works badly in default settings playing 4k 60P. I have a powerful graphics card so I think the trick is to use it maximally for decoding 4k 60P video, not blocking the graphics card. Now finally my system works so.
Have no idea that you mean.
Good player plays 4K not using GPU, but using build in GPU decoder block and with 1-5% CPU load.
Try the way I told, can download free Zoom player, for example and tune to use LAV filter.
I found a setting in PC Potplayer which plays GH5 4k 60P buttery smooth with low (20%) CPU load and 35% GPU load. With default settings my 6 years old computer uses 100% CPU / 5% GPU and the play is choppy.
I use nVidia GTX960 graphics card. In Potplayer I selected: preferences-filter control-video decoder-h.264-...box in right-H.264/AVC1:Nvidia cuda decoder.
6k HEVC video is still very choppy with that setting.
Thanks for suggesting trying settings.
It is proper software that is necessary and proper settings.
I just upload my H.265 6K photo 4:3 and 3:2 video files to youtube set to private to use as a preview since I could view them in 5K and 8K (youtube settings) on my 4K UHD monitor then I use Edit Ready 2 to convert to Pro Res 422 . On my Mac Pro Quicktime plays the Pro Res files in all modes ( normal, full screens, actual size ).

I tested GH5 6k HEVC video in my friends new powerful PC computer with nVidia GTX1070 card which should be capable of 8k 60P HEVC. It played GH5 6k 30p file only about 10fps in Potplayer. Maybe it needs better settings.

@Tomaso Well first think like a lawyer did they promise or plan and what were there clauses for non performance. As we know planning to do something and promising also versus contractual obligation are very different things. If you go back and read the small print you will find yourself SOL.
If you bought the camera on the promised 2 updates, what happens if they dont deliver?
You go to bank to get money you saved for children education and invest all of them into lawyers for hopeless trial with Panasonic that they will be hopefully able to settle for $100. :-)

More like bugfix release.

"Feature Set H are capable of hardware-accelerated decoding of 8192x8192 (8k resolution) H.265/HEVC video streams GeForce GTX 1070, GTX 1080, GeForce GTX 1060, NVIDIA TITAN XP, GeForce GTX 1050, GTX 1050 Ti"
I have nVidia GTX960 and seems that GH5 6k video has too much pixels for my card.

Thanks @Vitaliy_Kiselev , I will do some research on the matter. :)
You need proper player tuning.
Make sure to install https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=156191 , enable HEVC hardware acceleration for Nvidia and make sure player using it.
You can see that even 1050 Ti close to play 8K 60fps realtime.

@Vitaliy_Kiselev I've just tested a 6K from the GH5 on an 6 core AMD processor with a nVidia GTX 1070 and several video players. I didn't have any success. I have 0 video hardware acceleration for this, unfortunately and the CPU is to slow for the job. :(
@Vesku if you are using videolan on windows (Vlan player) try this one better: https://mpc-hc.org
Must play perfectly on even cheap computers with last gen Nvidia cards and proper player, as all GPUs support up to 8K HEVC decoding in hardware.
Does anyone have a computer capable to play GH5 HEVC 6k video smoothly? Is it possible?
