You'll need to download firmware from http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/download/fts/index2.html
StreamParser by Chris Brandin as help tool to analyse AVCHD streams - https://www.personal-view.com/faqs/gh2-hack/ptool-software
Other good idea is also use trial version of Elecard StremEye - http://www.elecard.com/en/download/products.html
Remember that Testers section patches are for testers. Use simple bitrate patches.
How can I make encoder hold better in low detailed scenes? Use Auto Quantizer patches.

Awesome, thanks Vitalily (and everyone testing the alpha/beta + developing settings etc).
Many Many Thanks Vitaliy!!!!
WOW! awesome, can't wait to try it!
Just loaded "Driftwood GOP1 AQ2 'AQUAMOTION' Experimental patch" in ptool v3.64d.
And saved as firmware GH2__V12.bin
The gh2 is updating to firmware v1.1 without problems...
And that auto iso bug is Gone, nice job and well done! thank you.
Sweet - just trying it with 1.1, but I'm not seeing any 25p specific patches. Are 25p settings shared with 24p? ie. will old 24p patches work for 25p too?
@_gl i think so.
just did a quik test and..

So, you can use settings designed for the v1.0 firmware on the v1.1 firmware? I suppose they will not be optimized for the 25p/30p framerates though?
Thanks @mozes, I'm about to try balazer's Cake 1.1 (which sounds exciting).
but I'm not seeing any 25p specific patches. Are 25p settings shared with 24p?
Look closely and read hints. 25p is shared with 1080i settings. This is how firmware is designed, it can't be done other way.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev, just found a small bug in all PTools versions: they cannot open the firmware file if it's set to read-only (I just did this after I accidentally saved over the stock firmware).
"Error opening file, or wrong format!"
@Vitaliy_Kiselev thanks.
hai vitality u mean i can update my camera to v1.1 and work with the hacks????
@Vitaliy_Kiselev Thank you :o)
No, Vitaliy just created a new Ptool so we can't alter the settings at all. ( ' _ ' )
Redownload and check now.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev yep it's fixed, awesome.
Just tried Cake 1.1 (patched & flashed fine) and it seems to be working in 24H with the expected bitrates.
Vitality, is it possible to get native 24p in the future for the gf2?
Vitality, is it possible to get native 24p in the future for the gf2?
I think answer is no. While all encoder code fro 24p is present, sensor is not up to it.
