  • @vicharris @all (if anyone is still interested) - I got some extra use out of my Varavon EX loupe that I used on the GH2 by drilling a new hole for the GH4. I do not have a GH5 so I cannot comment if it will still work. I did find the loupe to ve a very useful tool to have. Pix below:image

  • Where can I find the loupe for the gh2?

  • Can we petition Varavon or something to put out the GH3 loupe? It will seriously cause me to buy a GH3 and two of the loupes for the one I'm borrowing over here on Maui and mine.

You don't need petition, they are working on it.

  • Someone on here said they modified their GH2 Loupe to work well on the GH3. Think all they had to do was re-drill the mounting whole on the bottom. And yep @kellar42, I agree. It changes everything with it! BTW, how's the boom work coming along?

  • @kellar42

You can't just upload them zipped to any file sharing.

  • @Vitaliy_Kiselev, sorry, but how can I attach images to a PM?

  • Guys, send me by PM few photos of all the broken stuff. So I could pass it to manufacturer.

  • @vlcharris my tabs have broken off too, and the plastic around the allen bolts cracked and fallen off some as well. It is my favorite accessory, but it's definitely acquiring increasing amounts of gaffers tape as I use it.

  • @Vitaliy Any expected timeline?

@feha I know which is why I'd put a QR system to raise the body of the GH3 up a bit. Carryspeed has said they were making a GH3 versions but were delayed due to Chinese new year.

  • @RatLabProductions ,

Carryspeed VF-3 does not fit GH3 out of the box ...

  • Does anyone know if Varavon will be making a loupe for the GH3 flip out display?

    Yep. They will.

  • Does anyone know if Varavon will be making a loupe for the GH3 flip out display? I'm close to pulling the trigger on the Carryspeed VF-3 with quickrelease to raise it up but will hate to loose the articulation. Varavon have been quiet with GH3 bits.

  • So I'd had a failure with my Loupe. I really haven't used it as much as I thought I would but it still works great. The only thing is that the tabs that hold the rubber eye piece on, seem to have broken off. They are part of the main body and actually seem to be a weak point IMO. Not sure if it is even fixable but I'll contact the company when I finish this job. Fix: Took some gaffers tap and wrapped it around there eye piece, still works like a charm though.

  • So is it all supported off of the hot shoe mount?

  • @labalbi @vicharris @kellar42 @Rerbreg @RatLabProductions @rsquires @miko @cp_from_oz See my video above regarding the viewfinder on the GH3. With some creative rigging it can work.

  • @Vitaliy_Kiselev I never saw it coming.

  • @escapehatch

    Thanks. Very interesting approach.

  • I think a few folks are going to like the rig I just built. GH3! (btw not the solo as I misstated in the video, it is the proper Varavon ex GH1/2 supporter)

  • Anyone tried the Varavon UNI in the GH3 ?

  • @cp_from_oz Sure, I'll throw a few pics up right now. They aren't the best but I'll explain what the hell is going on best I can.

  • @vicharris Great you have nutted this out. Any chance of posting a pic? Either here or http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5293 I am still trying to work out best solution for rails, cage, battery access etc.

  • @cp_from_oz Without other support, nope. There's just no way to get it down tight enough and since it raises the body of the camera up a little from whatever you have it locked down to, it moves a little more. I was using a tripod mount adapter but wanted the option of using different mount lenses, so I took the tripod mount part off and picked up the varavon lens support thing sold on here. It took my a bit to figure out how to fit everything on my rails but it's good to go now with that Lens support thing.
