What do we know about the novel coronavirus?

  • India doing ok so far. Most of the lockdown is in the cities. In the villages not so much. Summer has helped a lot. They are going to give hydroxy chloroquine to a few thousand as a test. See if it stops the spread in the slums

  • @zcream

Our medics now propose to give HCQ + Azithromycin from the start (without serious issues) and even as profilactic.

Still Zinc sulfate is fully excluded.

  • @jleo

We really need to make topic for all this China blame stuff.

  • Yeah, was going to start a new topic...but very tiring topic :)

  • The app — slated for launch in France on May 11th — relies on Bluetooth technology. However, Apple’s operating system won’t allow Bluetooth to run in the background if the data it obtains is going to be moved off the device — a measure designed to protect user privacy. Speaking to Bloomberg, France’s digital minister Cedric O said, “We’re asking Apple to lift the technical hurdle to allow us to develop a sovereign European health solution that will be tied our health system.”

Health solution is to provide people really good N95 and better masks and not call tracking appplication intended to shut down protests as "healtth solution", as it only saves health of small part of ruling class and no more.

  • @Vitaliy @jleo....hahahahaha....ya'll are really funny. I say let the blame fall where the guilty hide, even or especially if the USa had anything to do with the origin of the pandemic. We know it and canada were wuhan lab investors and involved to what degree it's still not public. We know the USa was doing it's own research into corona at fort detrick. But truthfully, this chinese blame story that the USa started the virus in the wuhan military games is growing thin, like lies and propaganda always does. If china has proof, they should demonstrate it to the world. But the most obvious criminal acts were recent and out in full view. @jleo... don't call what I post "tiring" propaganda and then you put china state owned media as rebuttal. That's just a fuxin joke. Like all good propaganda it mixes a little truth to confuse. Obviously the US gov fuxed up their response but that crime will be judged by americans . Here are the two facts that are impossible to propagandize. China and WHO colluded to hide that the virus was transmittable. That's a FACT. And china closed down it's internal borders around wuhan but allowed international flights in and out, an intentional act , knowing full well they were starting a world wide pandemic. That's a FACT. What is happening with hoarding ppe, not only now but before the pandemic reached the USa is in the court of public opinion. Yeah....the west has one of those...contrary to other countries involved. So let the guilt cards fall where they may...but stop trying to dilute the scenario.

  • @Vitaliy.....""Right now main national security issue for US is goverment and biggest local capitalists, both of them act similar to enemies of the state."" ..... honestly you have no understanding of the dynamics at play in the USa. And I don't need any magnifying glass to access china's issues. A million muslims in their indoctrination camps tell that story already.

  • @kurth

Again, I do not care about "dynamics at play in the USa." in your terms. I care about only class based approach.

  • @Vitaliy...class marxism doesn't even begin to explain why governors are now more powerful than the president, or why ar15 toting gun activists can take over a state capital and not be arrested, or worse, by a police state. Like I said before, Marx didn't foresee capitalist making weapons so cheap that any peon could own 5. Capitalist in america are in an extremely vulnerable state of affairs, unlike your country where they're in total control. That's the prime difference. In china, capitalist are the state. In the USa, there's a line, and it's enforced by those half a billion weapons which forces the state to pay attention to the constitution. And those capitalist who've aligned themselves with the deep state, are the most vulnerable. However the biggest national security issue is china, if you're reading what they're saying and doing. This could turn into war any day, which could easily have been china's plan to weaken US forces with corona. While I don't condone the US empire, please don't tell me china doesn't have empire goals of it's own.

  • @firstbase.....there's all sorts of holes in this video. Is it fake? Is it deep fake? Do these morons think testing is vaccination ? Here's the flaw in the "it's the flu" theory. Yes, antibody tests are showing many more people were exposed, but curiously had zero symptoms. What does that really mean? Are the antibody tests flawed ? Should the presence of antibodies be counted to dilute death statistics ? Can you have yearly influenza antibodies and never have had symptoms ? My personal opinion is the deathrate should be calculated from the group that's symptomatic....from light to fatal. What happens to the virus in your body, if it hasn't gone symptomatic? Will it be triggered in the future ? Viruses do that. No one knows the answers, but everybody is ready to bend the truth to support their political pov. If anyone thinks this virus is a hoax, then go to northern italy or madrid and volunteer at a hospital. I haven't read one er care professional who thinks the virus is a hoax. Since none of the "it's a hoax" sters have done that, I'm calling them hypocrites, because they should think they're immune, right ?

  • @kurth The candid video is an interesting find. I believe it's authentic, but as with most of the information out there, the jury's still out. We likely won't know the true mortality rate from this virus for months or even years. If, as the Fox reporter intoned, the mortality rate is on par with the "flu" (0.1% to 0.3%), then we're being fed a bowl of manipulated statistics. Because of the efforts to shut down entire economies, the politicians are backed into a corner (especially the Governors) and must defend their draconian actions. As such, massaging (padding) the numbers helps that cause. We've all heard the reports that the positive cases and deaths are being padded for a variety of reasons. (Medicaid ostensibly pays hospitals fairly handsomely for COVID patients, etc...). The truth may lie somewhere in between, but my quarter says this is being highly politicized and it's an overreach. Time will tell. Dr. Birx herself suggested that they are attributing deaths to COVID even if other underlying health issues were more likely to blame. Dr. Jay Bhattachayra's research indicates mortality rates similar to flu as well.

  • @firstbase.....1st ...I would never use fox as a solitary source....and I never trust what the govt says, but birx said " underlying health issues contributed ". She didn't say "" underlying health issues were more likely to blame"". It's logical to assume, if corona causes other health issues to exacerbate, that a person's kidney's might fail first, for example...before the virus reached critical, which then makes sense attributing the cause of death to the factor that precipitated the crisis, not an underlying chronic condition. It's like saying ""our patient died of heart failure, but if that didn't really kill him, hitting the ground at 122mph was the cause. But he probably died of heart failure from being pushed out of an airplane ! "" My logic says....Cause of death....being pushed out of the airplane ! ...and about all the new youtube academics making their best go at getting noticed for a career lift , I saw a funny joke....they're being called sweg's....scientific wild eyed guessers ! I myself tend to believe what line of defense medical staff say...and do....if they don't get sick and die. I think that's the most important statistic not even being looked at. How many doctors and nurses die from the annual influenza ? I believe over 100 doctors have died in Italy per 2 weeks ago. How many doctors died of contagious influenza in 2018 ? I'd bet that number is zero !

  • this is interesting ...judy mikovits was the (cancer) researcher portrayed in the doc about the coronavirus origin.... https://twitter.com/drjudyamikovits/statu/1251660406021656577?s=21 ...when she says " they told me to say or else", she's talking about fauci !

  • @Vitaliy

None of modern online education tools work good on old or slow computers, as it is all online JavaScript based horror. At least you need modern 2 core/ 4 threads CPU model, just for bare minimum. Normally it works only on 4-6 cores. Checked.

I put a computer together for my nephew with a 2013 3770k I had around, fine for anything the internet can throw at it.

Second hand the CPU is about 200 AUD. So all up a PC could easily be put together for around the $400 mark.

Even a realme C3 is selling for 268 AUD. So in perspective not so bad.

  • @alcomposer

You just live in another universe, so 3770k becomes junk in it (actually it is within 15% of any modern 4 core CPU).

I am talking about really old 2 core computers.

  • @Vitaliy, you would be shocked how many people in Australia don't have a computer even with those specs.

  • @alcomposer I’m not surprised.

  • Why capitalism never have any real freedom

Lenin’s definition of freedom illustrates clearly the difference between genuine and false humanism, between ‘humanism’ and humanism. The ‘humanist' sees freedom as the permission to publicly slander his government The humanist who resembles Lenin reckons a free person to be one who does not have to fear unemployment and a hungry old-age, and who is free of fear over the fate of his children.

    Lion Feuchtwanger

And right now we observe extremely clearly that any capitalist country lacks any real freedom.

  • David Beasley, head of the World Food Programme (WFP), said urgent action was needed to avoid a catastrophe.

A report estimates that the number suffering from hunger could go from 135 million to more than 250 million.

Those most at risk are in 10 countries affected by conflict, economic crisis and climate change, the WFP says.

Addressing the UN Security Council during a video conference, Mr Beasley said the world had to "act wisely and act fast".

"We could be facing multiple famines of biblical proportions within a short few months," he said. "The truth is we do not have time on our side."

    Capitalism kills.

And Hitler is clearly awaiting for some friends undegrownd, including some famous health experts.

  • Mordor news

Main McDonalds potatoes supplier stopped factory and plans to dump or feed pigs using their best potatoes storage volume. They totally rejected idea to feed unemployed people as it can negatively affect other market segments (retail potatoes prices that is totally controlled by retail monopolies now).

Nice, revival of Great Depression practices, directly by old books recipes.

  • @Vitaliy....sadly you're right...ps would love subs on above historical footage

  • "one who does not have to fear unemployment and a hungry old-age, and who is free of fear over the fate of his children"

Now this is a real statement true to life but see materialism won't ever bring anyone there.

Socialism thru the incarnation of communism i saw it first hand and the capitalism that i saw most of my life it's al least 100 times worse.

My personal view in about 3 to 5 years we will talk about '19 like paradise on earth and about '20 like a good year...
