  • How idealism and opportunism can cloud someone's mind

Wow, it is people who watched some video blog who won't be making unrepairable and unprotected mess of notebooks. Really? Meaning that poor engineers who are making all this present things around us dreamed from childhood how to hurt humanity as much as possible (because they watched wrong animation series)? Seriously?

No, Louis. Laws is not "downstream of culture".

Law is the will of the ruling class transformed into legal regulations.

Print it in the big letters and attach above your bed, Louis. And you won't be asking stupid questions on how Apple get away with all that they do.

And all little "seeds that you had been planting all this years" somehow hurt reparability more and more. Get any notebook of 2009 and compare to 2019. Now it is soldered CPUs with Intel Boot Guard enabled (and that are not available on the market contrary to 2009!), soldered RAM, soldered SSDs must have come from your long time fans, I suppose?

Offering big money to companies to provide you boardview and schematics (that they already have for free, it does not require extra expenses) is also nuts. This guys keep them secret not because they did not watch your channel or they are inherently stupid. Nope.

Remember this famous quote from J. Reed. "There are two classes, the proletariat and the bourgeoisie... And whoever isn't on one side is on the other".

They do it because they are on the other side, and engineers, while being part of proletariat, are not realizing their interests and not fight for them. They are just simply implementing will of the ruling class. And they will just continue to watch your channel and won't widen their knowledge and asking your ideas credibility, they'll be still an idiots. Btw, Louis, you are also on the same side as they are, despite all the loud words. Because of libertarian views and "common logic" approach to core questions. This is why ruling class loves you and will try to promote more. Try to change videos adding class analysis and you will instantly see "results".

Either the dictatorship (i.e., the iron rule) of the landowners and capitalists, or the dictatorship of the working class.

    There is no middle course.

The ... intellectualists and petty gentry, badly educated on bad books, dream of a middle course. There is no middle course anywhere in the world, nor can there be. Either the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie... or the dictatorship of the proletariat. He who has not learned this from the whole history .. is a hopeless idiot.

And this positive example is... new version of most unrepairable tablet/notebook in history. Because you now can open.. top cover. And they hide the screws, wow! Not that you can repair much of it, no. But look - it is positive thing, they blinked the right eye, must mean something!

  • Louis agree that all this "Right to repair" stuff is pointless thingy and will be never reached

But he has no idea why.

    yet

Either the dictatorship (i.e., the iron rule) of .. capitalists, or the dictatorship of the working class.

    There is no middle course.

The scions of the aristocracy, intellectualists and petty gentry, badly educated on bad books, dream of a middle course. There is no middle course anywhere in the world, nor can there be. Either the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie (masked by ornate Socialist-Revolutionary ... phraseology about a people’s government, a constituent assembly, liberties, and the like), or the dictatorship of the proletariat. He who has not learned this from the whole history .. is a hopeless idiot.

    V. Lenin

And it is simple. Schematics, modularity, right and actual ability to get chips for repairs and other such things are elements possible only under dictatorship of the working class.

One who can't get this and still eat old false phraseology of libertarians ... is a hopeless idiot.

Here it had been tons of hopeless idiots who constantly told me how it is all not related and that I just need to keep looking in the big companies mouth in the false hope of some reasonable response.

  • And this is where opportunism leads

It is not comfortable to openly say that Apple is gradually and steadily doing. So Louis constantly lie even to himself.

  • Slowly going further

iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max will present customers with a warning if the devices are unable to verify a genuine display after a screen repair job. “If you need to replace your iPhone display, it’s important for certified technicians who use genuine Apple display parts to repair it,”

So, Louis, is it now some kind of bad part of management? Where is the good part, I mean your fantasies some time ago?

  • More fun from Louis

Making damage to MacBook in such a way that authorized service could only replace mainboard (and hence won't be able to save the data on SSD), and doing it KNOWING this in advance. It is not the service that you can blame - it is Apple, as allowing authorized services to do actual repairs and providing them with small components will significantly reduce Apple profits.

  • Right to Repair legislation is false hope

"Your representative" actually represent ruling class interests and it is Apple owners and investors that are in it.

  • Another petty bourgeoisie hope

"There are two classes, the proletariat and the bourgeoisie... And whoever isn't on one side is on the other".

    J. Reed

And this guys always want to balance, find pretty warm place to be in harmony, but it never happens.

And as Apple will wipe most of them out, with nice smile on their CEO face - they won't complain much.

  • Trying to get our of the trap and becoming opportunist

Lenin considered the main enemy of the workers to be what he called “opportunism”– the placing of the real interests on the workers on the back burner in order to pursue temporary policies which might lead to some gains in the present but which actually damaged the long term interest of the workers.

The opportunist, by his very nature, tends to avoid a definite and final solution of a question; he is always seeking for alternatives; he writhes like an eel between mutually exclusive points of view; he tries to ‘be in agreement’ with all sides, but expresses his disagreements in amendments, doubts, pious and innocent wishes, etc. etc.

    V.Lenin

Louis behavior is very good sample of opportunism. As without looking at the big picture and forgetting about strategic position towards Apple he really hope to gain something from the corporation move that can be viewed as small loosing of tempo while it is actually fully opposite thing.

Telling fairy tales how few top managers are nice people and they will somehow influence changes that are against strategic company interests... Where it is all coming from? It is coming from ideology of petty bourgeoisie that Louis belong to, as small size require constantly feel the winds and bend according to them, including becoming opportunist. It comes from not fully understanding how such decisions are being made, how they are being checked and rechecked and how even in case of small "influence" caused error corporations break the necks of anyone who will stand on a way of extra profits for the owners.

No, Apple is going for your scalps. But being large and having lot of people responsible for total win they are using longer term strategies. Now they will get all the data and most services will bring them, and they will ask for others they know talking with ones who will provide their data. And after some preparation and nice dramatic pause they will start to act like large retail chains coming in small city full of mom and pop shops, effectively undercutting and eliminating each of you, one by one. They can bear this, but you can't. And where necessary it'll be legal threats and where nothing works it will be fully dark and unofficial criminal actions. Same as big chains are doing across the world. Any methods is good if it leads to intended result.

  • Wow, Louis again is in trap and become anti libertarian even

Just look - it is better to buy original Apple batteries and screens directly at very big premium, and not buy parts from the highly competitive and amazing market that should produce nice alternatives (as it is big request for them!). Market somehow mostly consist from people who want fast money and are selling you various not so nice used parts. Welcome to... imperialism, where big sharks control the ocean.

Another thing - neglecting of process logic, lack of viewing situation as it develops. Apple gradually made any repair harder and more costly, step by step. And continue to do so. But suddenly, after making things worse again, offered services to provide all their location and contacts (and additional) data in return for fuzzy promises Apple wants to know who you are and that you do and, I am sure, instantly figure out all financial situation on each of such companies. After this they will feed some selected mice small amount of cheese, and next the trap will snap. Apple will legally and economically destroy most of third party repair businesses. This guys will do it, just give them the time.

Proper way for libertarian who understands where he lives (during imperialism stage) is to demand for anti-monopoly system to intrude and force Apple and all of parts manufacturers to ship original parts they also sell to Apple into open market with premium no more than 20% compared to the prices in the Apple contracts. This also include all the Apple own design parts like chips, such as TSMC will have obligation to have safe stock for all chips for 5 years (20-30% of all chips made) and obligation to sell them according to demand with same margins limit. Such thing will also have interesting consequences, as Apple will start to bleed money they now get by offering replacement parts similar to auto makers at high premiums.
