I haven't seen much mention of the fact that the GH3 now uses a 240 FPS readout speed instead of the 120 FPS that the GH2 used. Should help slightly with the rolling shutter effect.
From the GH3 product page
"The camera and the lens exchange the digital signal at max. 240 fps to minimize the time to focus."

No, it just means that it has such mode that is used for focusing only (ond if it is very bright :-) )

Wil it have live VGA out on 1080p 50fps ?
GH3 Intra matrix sans 8x8 matrices to try out on GH2. Remember THIS IS experimental and has been tested only on 24p and HBR25. Its all Intra bar the 720p stuff which is Nebula 7 - 6 GOP

Lol, This will reach 50 pages in no time. The sensor can read 240fps...maybe can read 100fps in 720p maybe.
Thing that we know for sure is that LSI can compress 720p100 and 720p120 properly, as it is doing this in FZ200.
But, most probably, sensor don't have 720p100 and 720p120 modes.
@driftwood Did a quick test of the GH3 experimental to see if it spanned and on a Pretec 16gb 567x card it spanned and recorded for 40min. Need to test a 32gb Transcend next and see if it spans.
The patch said it was around 150mbs, I thought you were going to try the 70mb of the GH3? Did you change your mind or is that to make the 24L 70mb stable?
EDIT: Did not span on a 32gb Class 10 Transcend card. I'll test 24L next.
The L setting is 70M !
The Q&A over at Imaging Resource seems to have more technical details about the GH3 than most of that sort of interview.
Considering europe limit:
The camera will record up to four gigabytes of video in a single file, and then automatically make a second file when the first one is full. There's no gap when you play back the video, though. The actual recordable time is the length of video that can be recorded in a single four gigabyte file, and the continuous recordable time is that which can be recorded in eight gigabytes, spanned across two video files. Once eight gigabytes has been captured, recording stops.

Yes, the WiFi chip and Bluetooth are unified. It can do Bluetooth or WiFi, just controlled by software. Not at the same time, of course, but we could switch when we wanted to.

Yes, it's not possible to read out the whole array at 60p. So this means we have to do some pixel combining. We combine 2 x 2 pixels on the sensor, so that makes just one quarter the data that we have to read out. This makes it possible to read out at 60p. Then we combine again to get the 2 megapixel video image.
That interview was very good. Lot's of great info there.
Btw, elimination of spanning and full support of exFAT is main point we must press Panasonic.
I wonder how they can combine 2x2 pixels on sensor before readout. Is everyone else line skipping instead?

Either sensor is designed such, or they just use on sensor logic.
Is everyone else line skipping instead?
I think not everyone.
Panasonic Lumix GH3 Remote App im Hands On [DE]
That would be very interesting because people could develop app with peaking, histogram or zebras with the wifi functionality.
Would be great to have an EVF cradle for a phone or tablet with a loupe attachment. I'd pay for a pro app that gives Zebra/Peaking/histogram/audio levels etc.
I hope they come out big with apps for Wifi access. Wireless FF on your phone? that would be sweet
