Swedish Chameleon
wow! Swedish chameleon looks very interesting. I wonder if the the image feeling would be any different than a normal steadycam
It looks to have a Kenyon Gyro under the camera rig, obviously not turned on (they're very noisy) as you can't throw the camera around like that without fighting the torque. Very interesting idea though, seem much lighter than a regular steady with vest.
Yes, you right. It's only prototype. Full rig with 2 Gyro coming soon....
Two gyros will mean limited manourverbility, you won't be able to walk and change direction quickly like in the video. On a boat or heli would be good though.
I have in the past hung a camera with bungies from the canopy rails on a boat and used Kenyon gyros, works quite well. Thanks for posting the videos Alex.
I've used gyros too. They scream like a banshee and are exhausting. Great core workout though. Like you say, limited applications, but in the right setup...
Whats the point of this device? ...other than it holds the rig, so you don't need to hold it by hand? It's not stabilizing the camera in any axis... it is nowhere near any steadycam even the chinese one...
That Ninja2 is awesome, damn we really need clean HDMI out of GH2/3 now. Pre- edits in the Ninja on the plane before getting to the studio, that I want.
The Ninja2 does look nice. The video industry is on fire! There is so much innovation and the spark has been the DSLR user market. The need for new solutions to the needs of DSLR users has really pushed the development of more and more products. It's a great time.
I like it..
Haha, mimics a studio broadcast camera moves, how ingenious. Keep'em coming Alex.
Audio recorded using JuicedLink :-)
I prefere giving my money to these guys over zacuto, partly because of his mustache
