Corporate censorship now in full force

  • The New York Post articles contain email correspondence allegedly from Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son. They claim to show that Hunter Biden introduced his father to an executive at the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. President Trump’s campaign has been using Joe Biden’s supposed links to Ukraine as the basis for repeated political attacks.

Twitter blocked users from sharing links to the articles, under a policy against distributing hacked information. “The policy, established in 2018, prohibits the use of our service to distribute content obtained without authorization,” the company tweeted. “We don’t want to incentivize hacking by allowing Twitter to be used as distribution for possibly illegally obtained materials.”

Facebook opted for a less extreme approach and reduced the reach of the pieces while they were being vetted by the platform’s fact-checking partners.

The decision to limit the spread of two investigative articles, particularly those written by a national outlet, was unusual, playing into long-standing conservative concerns about bias and social media censorship.

Actually we are witnessing attempt of corporations to replace the government, they want to fully abolish all other ruling class members outside small new oligarchy group.

  • Patreon is joining the ranks of tech companies cracking down on QAnon. Bloomberg reports the crowdfunding site is banning accounts “dedicated” to promoting the discredited conspiracy theory, while others that have pushed some QAnon content (but aren’t devoted to it) will have to alter their behavior to remain on the service. Projects that merely mention QAnon or are focused on analzying the conspiracy shouldn’t face any issues, Patreon said

  • Republican Senators Ted Cruz called the companies “the single greatest threat to free speech in America.” “Mr. Dorsey, who the hell elected you and put you in charge of what the media are allowed to report and what the American people are allowed to hear?" he said to the Twitter CEO. At times, Republican senators referred to platforms’ fact checking as "censorship" (in many cases, misleading posts stay online but with a warning label appended) but examples of double standards are anecdotal — credible, independent studies have not proven a political bias by major social media platforms.

Sometimes I wanna vomit reading such things.

  • OANN has become a poster child for Trump-focused misinformation on YouTube, but the problem is much larger than a single video or a single channel. It’s a network-wide issue, the result of YouTube staking out a position as one of the most permissive major social networks. That stance has served YouTube well for years, but it’s become a liability in the face of the Trump campaign’s ongoing scramble to delegitimize the results of the 2020 election. While Facebook and Twitter tighten their moderation rules and supercharge enforcement, YouTube is still struggling with how to respond to misinformation around the election.

I love US corporations, they become so open and just openly discuss that they want to do next.

  • The social network Facebook will use a new machine learning algorithm to moderate content posted by users. The first task of the algorithm will be to find the most traumatic publications for their subsequent removal.

Facebook will consist only from holidays congratulations and pink ponies. All else are too traumatic, except COVID horror stuff, of course.

Almost all AI will be used for censorship and oppression. Ruling class now thinks that they found the silver bullet.

  • And we have next step

YouTube will begin removing any content they deem to be 'misleading' by alleging widespread voter fraud or errors changed the outcome of the 2020 US election, according to Bloomberg.

The Google subsidiary says it will remove videos claiming President Trump won due to counting errors or software glitches.

The company says it's terminated over 8,000 channels and 'thousands of misleading elections-related videos' for violating preexisting policies. Over 77% of those were automatically removed before they had 100 views.

  • Small countermeasure

In Mordor Sauron himself signed a federal law on sanctions for censorship of truthful Mordor media. Foreign social networks will be punished for restricting access to Mordor media content due to racial, national or political affiliation.

The law will also affect large foreign companies, including YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. If they allow the Mordor media to be censored, they could be subject to sanctions in the form of blocking, traffic slowdowns or fines. The maximum amount of the fine will be three million rubles. Moreover, different sanctions can be applied simultaneously.

In accordance with the new law, the Prosecutor General, in agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be able to assign a foreign website the status of allowing censorship of Mordor media.

Small step for US, but significant one.

  • YouTube will temporarily ban accounts for posting election fraud videos. Any channel that posts an offending video will immediately receive a strike and be blocked for a week.

Today, YouTube is furthering its efforts to crack down on misinformation in light of the chaos by announcing that any channel posting videos that spread false information about the election will immediately be given a “strike.” A first strike against a channel effectively blocks it from YouTube for a week, preventing it from uploading any videos, stories or live events.

Usually, YouTube gives first-time offenders a warning, but that practice has been suspended in light of yesterday’s events.

    Nice, just nice.

Democracy and freedom of speech in full force.

    Fascist state emerging fast.

  • Michele Obama on her own totalitarism

Now is the time for Silicon Valley companies to stop enabling this monstrous behavior — and go even further than they have already by permanently banning this man (Trump) from their platforms and putting in place policies to prevent their technology from being used by the nation’s leaders to fuel insurrection.

    Nicey.

  • I like very much this thread pointing out the calls by liberals for censorship and the actual censorship they impose in the realms they control.

But, "freedom" of speech mean freedom from government interference. YouTube and Twitter and Facebook are private firms and they can set their own rules. As long as there are no legal barriers to entry of firms in "social media" there is still de jure freedom of speech in the US. and there are laws that protect it. So, no, Twitter banning trump is not fascism, which is a characteristic of government policy. Twitter may even feel that the censorship protects against fascism, which partly thrives by politicians spreading fears and lies.

In contrast, in China, the government censors with no limitations what can be viewed and said and shown and printed. There are no alternatives other than country exit or changing the government. But there is no body of law, like a constitution, that claims freedom of speech in China is a right.

Trump has already shifted to other media sites and minor broadcast networks have experienced growth when other broadcast networks shifted their political slant - free entry, competition.

Now, there are real issues of monopolies here. And there are other issues - splintering of media sites by political views, so Facebook gets "liberals" and some other platform gets whatever the other side is called. And no one ever gets questioned about their views on those politically-narrow sites. Everyone sits in their comfort zone of ignorance and thoughtlessness with their enablers and yes-sayers.

This site is exemplary - it espouse contrary to mainstream (but learned and coherent) views and allows dissent from those as well as other views no matter how ill-informed and paranoid those are. But not without debate. There is some tech stuff to learn also.

  • @markr041

So, lets define terms and stuff.

First on fascism and democracy - http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/24970/socialism-on-liberals-and-bad-dicatatorships#Item_1

    On freedom

    https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/15115/good-quote-about-freedom-in-capitalism

    http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/16674/good-quote-on-freedom

But, "freedom" of speech mean freedom from government interference.

Nope, freedom of speech is just bad term made up by ruling class, as it is now pretty safe for them. As people need freedom to remove capitalists or any unfit manager even and establish common means of production and free information exchange.

Look at the cameras market. It is lot of useless freedom of speech mostly made by stupid talking heads and everyone smiles and cheers, but if you try to really directly affect product and really change stuff - attitude will change instantly and companies do not like this. Why? Because they feel that it is communist approach, dangerous for a lot of people inside companies.

As for pinky liberals information oppression and censorship now - read first link on fascism, as ruling class start to have serious issues he need to drop the veil of fake democracy and fake freedom of speech and move into more direct methods, including open anti communism stances like threats and banning it (see all last months doings and speeches in US).

In contrast, in China, the government censors with no limitations what can be viewed and said and shown and printed.

In China it is not capitalists who are ruling class yet. They are now stuck in something like new economic policy in USSR.

In US it is impossible to oppress richest man in the country and tell him that to do and just use his money and resources freely as his is just hired manager.

Yet, we need to see sharp left turn in China and spreading communism on other countries.

  • Nope, the freedom of speech that matters is freedom from government interference with citizen's speech. Anyone can say they want to overthrow the ruling class or espouse communism or support China or criticize China, freely.

You can censor me (I know you won't) and I will just leave. So, I still have freedom to express my ignorance. Every existing site bans me, I can set up my own site. Freedom of speech.

Yes, freedom of speech means lots of stupid stuff are said and printed and spread and broadcast. We can post Lenin's views and Mussolini's views with no government stopping that. a YouTube influencer can spread corporate propaganda, freely

I don't see your talking about communism has anything to do with freedom of speech being protected by the government or censored by the government. Remarkably incoherent set of statements for you. But maybe I am just too stupid to understand them.

  • Nope, the freedom of speech that matters is freedom from government interference with citizen's speech. Anyone can say they want to overthrow the ruling class or espouse communism or support China or criticize China, freely.

You keep repeating "government". As I say, read first link. Telling about "freedom from government" is useless as government in capitalism are just team of hired managers (can be also some members of ruling class) and/or clowns. They do not act on their own and if they attempt to do this you will see that happens, like now :-).

So, US government and Chinese government are two different things despite same word used to describe them.

Anyone can say they want to overthrow the ruling class or espouse communism or support China or criticize China, freely.

And this is now possible as ruling class do not see any real threat behind this words. But as things become worse it all changes fast. As I said, it is now prohibited to enter US by any communist party member from any country or by any man who openly share communist ideals. Official US document that become active few months ago and I cited it.

We see open decommunisation in many countries going. UK also join the team this year so they will track any pro communist things in books and any educational materials.

Yes, freedom of speech means lots of stupid stuff are said and printed and spread and broadcast. We can post Lenin's views and Mussolini's views with no government stopping that. a YouTube influencer can spread corporate propaganda, freely

Don't be so sure about Mussolini either, at my country doing such can mean jail time (made in last 2 years).

I don't see your talking about communism has anything to do with freedom of speech being protected by the government or censored by the government.

Communists always prefer wide democracy over fascist and tightening regimes. Same is true for freedom of speech, but as I said it is interesting thing - as soon as it become useful and powerful tool it will be cancelled by ruling class under any nice presence. In early 20th century it had been cancelled under "we must be patriots and fight war for out country" stuff.

  • Apple and Google are facing new pressure to deplatform Parler, a social network founded as a less moderated and more conservative-friendly alternative to Facebook and Twitter. Activist group Sleeping Giants has called on both companies to ban Parler from their app stores in response to posts calling for violence against elected officials

Look how useful are closed ecosystems app shops...

  • Reddit spokesperson told an undoubtedly giddy Axios, who added "We have also taken action to ban the community r/donaldtrump given repeated policy violations in recent days regarding the violence at the U.S. Capitol."

Facebook has removed the 'Walk Away' campaign from its platform and has banned founder Brandon Straka and his team - which had over 500,000 people who shared their testimonial videos about leaving the Democratic party.

Owners of this world are not happy and want thing to go certain way.

  • How can you censor someone: 'Let's see, I, as the judge of the Holy Inquisition, will punish you because I think what you're saying is harmful,'" López Obrador said in an extensive, unprompted discourse on the subject. "Where is the law, where is the regulation, what are the norms? This is an issue of government, this is not an issue for private companies."

  • The social network Twitter reported that it immediately and permanently blocked the personal account of US President Donald Trump.

    This is extreme crime.

  • image

Just moments later, twitter deleted all of the above tweets from the @POTUS account and Trump had been block from access to it.

Trump also tweeted using his campaign, @TeamTrump account. Literally 10 seconds later the account was suspended.

Trump campaign digital director tweeted @DanScavino to use his account for Trump and was swiftly suspended:.

This further proves that all tech giants must be totally disassembled and buried.

  • Google has just suspended Parler from its Play Store

"In order to protect user safety on Google Play, our longstanding policies require that apps displaying user-generated content have moderation policies and enforcement that removes egregious content like posts that incite violence.

All developers agree to these terms and we have reminded Parler of this clear policy in recent months.

We're aware of continued posting in the Parler app that seeks to incite ongoing violence in the U.S.

We recognize that there can be reasonable debate about content policies and that it can be difficult for apps to immediately remove all violative content, but for us to distribute an app through Google Play, we do require that apps implement robust moderation for egregious content.

In light of this ongoing and urgent public safety threat we are suspending the app's listings from the Play Store until it addresses these issues."

    José Castañeda, a Google spokesperson.

    Apple will do same

Apple has given Parler, the social network favored by conservatives and extremists, an ultimatum to implement a full moderation plan of its platform within the next 24 hours or face expulsion from the App store.

In an email sent this morning and obtained by BuzzFeed News, Apple wrote to Parler’s executives that there had been complaints that the service had been used to plan and coordinate the storming of the US Capitol by President Donald Trump’s supporters on Wednesday. The insurrection left five people dead, including a police officer.

"We have received numerous complaints regarding objectionable content in your Parler service, accusations that the Parler app was used to plan, coordinate, and facilitate the illegal activities in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2021 that led (among other things) to loss of life, numerous injuries, and the destruction of property,” Apple wrote to Parler. “The app also appears to continue to be used to plan and facilitate yet further illegal and dangerous activities.”

    ...

Apple said that “to ensure there is no interruption of the availability of your app on the App Store,” Parler was required to submit an update and a “requested moderation improvement plan within 24 hours of the date of the message,” which was sent on Friday morning. Apple said if it did not receive an update from the company within that time frame, the app would be removed from the App store.

  • Permanent suspension of @realDonaldTrump

After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.

In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action. Our public interest framework exists to enable the public to hear from elected officials and world leaders directly. It is built on a principle that the people have a right to hold power to account in the open.

However, we made it clear going back years that these accounts are not above our rules entirely and cannot use Twitter to incite violence, among other things. We will continue to be transparent around our policies and their enforcement.

  • My personal view on this

US need total and permanent destruction of tech system that merged with part of ruling class and quickly moving towards Neo Nazi regime, where pinky left phrases are used to hide horrible terror against their own citizens and full abolition of any rights.

  • The CEO of the conservative-friendly social app Parler said that all of its vendors have abandoned the company following recent bans from Google, Apple, and Amazon.

“Every vendor, from text message services to email providers to our lawyers, all ditched us too, on the same day,” Parler CEO John Matze said in an interview with Fox News on Sunday.

This will all end very bad for everyone.

As next ANY view can be called as unsuitable and totally cleaned and banned.
