  • Progress is fast, as I said:

YouTube is changing its community guidelines to ban videos promoting the superiority of any group as a justification for discrimination against others based on their age, gender, race, caste, religion, sexual orientation, or veteran status.

The move expected to result in the removal of thousands of channels across YouTube.

We will remove content denying that well-documented violent events, like the Holocaust or the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, took place.

In addition to removing videos that violate our policies, we also want to reduce the spread of content that comes right up to the line.

Thanks to this change, the number of views this type of content gets from recommendations has dropped by over 50% in the U.S. Our systems are also getting smarter about what types of videos should get this treatment, and we’ll be able to apply it to even more borderline videos moving forward.

    And surprise

if a user is watching a video that comes close to violating our policies, our systems may include more videos from authoritative sources (like top news channels) in the "watch next" panel.

    Wow.

  • Cloudflare, an online infrastructure service that helps websites mitigate DDoS attacks, will be terminating its service for 8chan following the deadly, white nationalist shooting in El Paso, Texas over the weekend.

The owners of 8chan have already been notified that their services will be revoked, opening the site up for potential DDoS attacks that could shut it down entirely. Cloudflare will officially shut down service at midnight Pacific Time tonight.

    Slow, too slow.

Time to move to thousands to sites per day :-)
