As Vitaly mentions above, the Karma Grip is available now. I have tested it extensively over the last two weeks, and also compared it to the Removu S1.
See the first part of my testing including footage here:

New method to get rid of big Hero 5 stock they have.
Footage of Karma crashing, you can hear motors restarting right before impact
The recall was announced after we discovered that in a small number of cases, Karma units lost power during operation. We are investigating the issue and working in close coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration.
Even though your Karma appears to be working fine, we are asking all customers to immediately stop using the product and participate in the recall. Refer to the Return Instructions section above.
So, Samsung was good start for a serious of such things...
@lmackreath Wait or just get Mavic, they are doing recall due to power loss during operation

Good times for GoPro :D
EDIT: GoPro link
Anyone heard of any release date news for this and\or the grip in the uk?
DJI Mavic vs GoPro Karma
nothing wrong with that...I think if you already own a gopro black and want a cheap small affordable drone that comes with a removable gimbal then the karma is still a good option. You also get a remote with a screen on it with the karma, the mavic is reliant on a mobile phone or table for viewing the image..
Looks like a kids toy compared to what DJI just announced.
really nice piece of kit, the inclusion of a removable gimbal and remote with built in screen is a big plus...
Issue can be the camera location. While they balanced it with battery weight statically, you can not change physics in dynamics.
The concept is great, the combination with the handheld gimbal is exactly what i was always looking for, the portability is so desireable, image quality of any gopro has been so far superior to the image quality coming out of the phantoms due to the heavy dji moiré effect....but all the footage i saw from the karma drone is shaky and jitters. Let's see if they can solve this with the final drone. The phantom 4 is bloody smooth. If only they could get rid of these outdated image failures and increase bitrates. If the karma will produce as smooth aerials as the phantom, gopro will survive. If not, gopro is done.
Here is the best information I have seen yet on the Karma. Casey explains it very well
Warm promotion article (such are usually paid)

this is def using 3dr tech and experience. i own the solo, but welcome this package with open arms. super cheap, and really a nice cohesive package.
Hmmm... I get the feeling a lot of this evolved from the 3DR solo platform which was abandoned by 3DR... maybe 6 months ago ?
GoPro's store is overloaded after the Hero5 and Karma announcements, but here's a link to some coverage of the new drone:
