GoPro has released a firmware upgrade with an updated World Magnetic Model today.
This makes the drone fly again.
However, there has been a surge of bricked Karma drones this winter which is no longer able to connect to the remote controller for unknown reason. Per GoPro the only solution is to replace the drone core, which if not under warranty is expensive (and probably not possible since the drone parts are in its final fire sale at gopro.com and the separate core are no longer in stock).
I have two Karma systems. One was upgraded today and is fine. The other one just died in the karma "coffin" after not being used for a few months. The drone core no longer emitts a WiFi signal and thus does not connect to the remote controller anymore.
