Hello guys, I'm after a couple of focal reducers for a couple of Panasonic G7's in nikon mount for aperture control and I'm wondering if I could ask a couple of questions, as I'd ideally like to get the Mitakon Zhongyi Lens Turbo II.

• I haven't been able to find definitive answers about using it with the G7 in 1080 mode (for 50-60fps), will it vignette with APSC lenses? Specifically the sigma 18-35 f1.8, I've seen a guy with a GH4 on youtube say it vignettes, but then another guy says it doesn't on his G7. Does anyone know or use it with this set up?

• Does the tripod mount from the RJ Lens Turbo fit on the Mitakon Lens Turbo II? In some photos it looks like it might, in others not so much.

• Does the mitakon lens turbo II have the moving/adjustable back element like the RJ lens turbo? I saw a video of a guy adjusting it for parfocal focusing with the sigma 18-35 1.8, I'm thinking this might help alleviate some of the vignetting if it exists?

@brake, I use an RJ with a Tascam 17-50mm f2.8 on a G7 and only vignettes in Photo mode. In 4K it's fine. I don't record in 1080. My guess is you should be ok. At most it would be a very mild zoom adjustment to get past the edge of the lens.

@yskunto, no it does NOT vignette in 4:3, 3:2 or 16:9. However with my 16:9 Video Lens Hood on it will cause vignette in Photo use and HD Video mode but not in 4K.

Can I control aperture with Canon EF version? What is solution to control aperture on lenses who have electronic control?

You can't control it while it is on adapter.

I suggest to make topic about this Viltrox thing and ask in it. As far as I see it is just generic brand reselling usual cheap adapters with absolutely unknown or even random glass suppliers.

The flange focal distance is too long, that can't be shimmed or fixed (if it focused past infinity it could be shimmed and fixed. Contact the seller ASAP, if there's a simple fix (like they put too many shims n the damn thing) but chances are it;'s a bad example/ the optics are not quite right (there's a lot of factors) and you should return it with in your period, if they don't respond., and if they do respond, ask for an extension in writing. Chances are you'll be sending it back.

The Fuji X Camera Lens Turbo Adapter (Ver II) from Mitakon allows lenses to be mounted to APS-C format Fuji cameras, increasing the angle of view by 0.726x and the maximum aperture of the lens by 1 f-stop.

The four optical elements of the Lens Turbo adapter condense light from the full frame lens and project it onto the camera’s sensor allowing the sensor to capture all of the transmitted light, negating the crop factor and effectively producing full-frame coverage on non-full-frame sensors. A corresponding increase in the maximum aperture of 1 f-stop makes the lens more effective in low-light situations.

This adapter features 4 optical elements including one extra-low dispersion (ED) element which reduces aberrations for better delineated images. The adapter offers a sturdy metal construction and stainless steel mounts, it attaches to both camera and lens with little play and includes a front and rear protective cap. The Lens Turbo is a manual adapter offering no electronic communication between lens and camera. It is not compatible with Blackmagic cinema cameras.

• Allows lens to be mounted to Fuji X camera

This lens turbo adaptor may not fit all lenses due to different extensions at the lens rear mount. Lenses with extension more than 3mm are not recommended to use this lens turbo adaptor. Vignetting may occur if using APS-C lenses.
