Can't tell if this is where you post new question.
I've looked and searched, but I haven't found anything related to the HDMI feature. Assuming I locate a cable with a male micro HDMI on one end and a male regular on the other, How is this connection used?
If I connect the camera to my computer monitor, or to my television, what happens next? Will a window pop up allowing me to navigate to the files on the camera's sd chip?
Or, Will I only see what the camera sees? If this is the case, I understand that this is a good way to adjust the focus problem. But would that be all the HDMI business accomplish? Nothing more? Not useful to show videos from the camera to the monitor or television?

Usually it is best to ignore ixbt video reviews, most of them are quite horrible.
TO valdi99, and to Vitaliy_Kiselev
Thank you both for your quick responses to my post.
And thank you valdi99 for sending a Google translated link to Vitaliy's entire web page! That was very considerate of you.
And as for your web site, Vitaliy, I can see that you spent a lot of time researching and arranging your results. Very generous of you.
As for the HDMI cable I would need: I looked at the Amazon HDMI cables but there is some difficulty determining the precise size of the connectors. The monitor male end may not be much of a problem, but it is the micro male end that is not clear to me. There are at least two small sizes available and none of the pictures are helpful to reveal the exact size of the micro end.
I can only guess that the cable seen here, http://www.amazon.com/Fosmon-HDMI-Micro-Cable-Feet/dp/B003UH0Z9Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1433521707&sr=8-2&keywords=hdmi+cable+to+micro+hdmi
has the right size plugs. The micro end appears to be small enough for the Xiaomi Yi, but since there's no scale I can't be certain.
Thanks for the tip, rkleemann! I've been dragging my feet to reply until I had a cable to try out myself. The other day I stopped at Radio Shack, broke down and bought a cable that was supposed to work - over $40. Got it home, opened the box and checked the micro end. Wrong connector. Took it back for a refund.
So, I'm still looking. I'll check Staples again next time I'm in town. The adventure continues. Stand by.
I have used this cheap adapter
HDMI out works fine, but Xiaomi Yi shows (overlays) 3 icons on the top left corner of TV screen. Logo, WiFi and something else.
For all my fellow Yi users, this cam now captures at 50mbps with 2304x1296 pixels, and shoots RAW stills with great image quality.
For anyone interested, I attached the script I made for v1.2.6 Firmware.
It is a combination of the great scripts that can be found here:

Cool news. :-)
@Scot - there are no any particular hack versions, I just modify firmware (every time the new one is released) by increasing bitrates at the fps modes I need (mostly 30fps, from default bitrate to about 35-45Mbps). It can be easily done with Ambarella Firmware Toolbox editor. I also use *.ash scripts to get 2304x1296 resolution and some other hacked features, like fixed WB, ISO, exposure etc. All info is on dashcamtalk forum, as mentioned above.
Nice, Now someone make a ribcage equivalent for it!
