Amazon states that the G7 will be released mid Juni
This G7 definitely follows in the footsteps of the honourable GH2 and it's another workhorse looking to make history, even if never gets hacked, but of biblical proportions if it does.
Will get one to replace my GH2 for another 4 years, unless the GX8 gets IBIS against all odds, which I further doubt every minute that goes by.
$100 discount for lens is working with any supplier anyway, as it is Panasonic promo.
The Adorama deal is much better, free Audio Technica $250 mic!!
(if you preorder just the kit you already have $100 discount)
I think you can't (despite original interface suggest that you can). You need to add second lens.
Great price for the kit. I'm very tempted to sell my G6 and get the G7 by the end of the year. Would like a body only though, as I already have a plethora of lenses.
report live hdmi for 4k....and I'm wondering for 1080 as well ?

From News Shooter: "For users wanting to record at a higher quality than is available internally, it does seem that you will be able to record UHD external to either a Atomos Shogun or Odyssey 7Q+."
Who knows if this is guesswork or inside information?
I don't believe the G7 has the same Sensor as the LX100. I believe they've said that it's the same sensor as the GX7 but with the Image Processing of the GH4. The thing that shocked me was no NFC. Guess they felt it would help keep the cost down not to include it, but that seems a bit odd.
@Aria, the sensor in the LX100 is from the GX7 also (it is only not used in its entire area to have multiaspect - hence the 12mp resolution - and because the LX100's lens image circle did not cover the entire sensor).
Hi, I will know if the G7 supports the Extended TeleConverter (ETC) in the UltraHD (4K) mode. Because with the G6 in fullhd 24p, 25p, 30p, 50p or 60p a single lens, namely a 35mm + speedbooster + normal adapter, I can have a plethora of focal lenghts (rounded): 25mm (SB), 60mm (SB+ETC), 70mm (normal), 170mm (normal + ETC)
This camera is a decent upgrade for the Lumix G-series, which was originally designed for the people who would never spent the same money on GH- no matter how good it is: a decent image sensor and processor, 4K video, support of UHS-II cards, 2.36Mpix OLED EVF, etc. Nonetheless, I am a bit disappointed that they didn't included some of the features of the CX7 (in-body image stabilizer, tiltable EVF, 1/320 sec flash X-sync,...) and LX100 (multi-aspect ratio sensor). I really hope that Panasonic would make GX8 worth to upgrade from GX7.
It would be great to know if live view HDMI works while filming (or if it´s just active in standby - For shooting stills for example). Also interesting: The "constant preview" function (which was missing with the G6) - This feature is especially important if you´re shooting with vintage / manual glass (as with it you really see what you get - Live on the screen and in the EVF).
He did not said anything different, look above at my post, it is official information.
EU cameras have restriction in ALL modes. Other cameras do not have restriction only in AVCHD modes.
"Good" news, G7's HD has no limit. But the 4K does have a 30 minute limit. Not PAL/NTSC switchable. But live HDMI does work.
