Indeed I did see that awful demo: but I thought it was that dude incapable of handling the gimbal properly. That's why I wondered if anybody else had had any experience with this stabilizer.

Yes, it is designed for GoPro cameras. For small Panasonic cameras to work this would require modifications of the bracket which currently holds the GoPro in its place. This bracket is screwed onto the tilt axis. So in theory at least it should be possible to carefully unscrew it and replace it with a DIY solution for a slightly bigger camera. Something to keep in mind when tempering with the current gimbal design is that the current firmware of the gimbal is for the small GoPro, so a slightly heavier camera may throw the gimbal off balance or overwork the gimbal motors.

Got my FeiyuTech 3 Axis handheld from china the other day, first go with old gopro black, just getting a feel for it, works well for what it is I think. I'll get it smoother next time I need to follow through the motion more and holding the handle parallel to the floor seems to work better rather than upright, snatched it a couple of times, but still that was all hand held on foot on a rough surface, I was impressed even if no one else is :)
