Full HD 6.5" IPS screen, OGS; 3300mAh Battery
HUAWEI Ascend P6
it is not MTK based and even without FullHD screen, but quite stylish phone.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev you're right, my post actually was kind of off-topic. Just wanted to draw peoples attention towards a fairly produced phone that actually is a little more expensive than the ones you advertise in this thread, but for reasons I personally find worth supporting (social compatibility and sustainability) instead of the name of the brand. The phone will also support open-source OS and be easily repairable. In case anybody's interested you can always PM me. And fyi: I'm not in any way connected to the people that build the phone, I only find the concept very convincing.
Anyway, sorry for off-topic.

Sorry for removing part of your message, I just do not understand all the things wrote on your link. And how ti is related to topic title at all.
Taiwan claim that Mediatek’s 8-core processor will arrive before the end of this month!" and "The first batch of these new processors will be ready for manufacturers to begin development by the end of July, while Mediatek are preparing full-scale manufacture for November!" so that means that the MT6592 will be ready until the end of this month and they (MediaTek) will send the first batch to all the Chinesse manufacturers until the end of July and MediaTek will announce it at November, but most of the manufacturers will have ready to run devices with MT6592 at November.
Interesting
Top phones are slowly migrating to the MTK6589T, higher clocked chip, and FullHD screen, of course.

It is fun that affordable tegra 3 based phones also started to emerge (from $167 shipped) :
Yep, but
Is cheaper, plus Android on C2 is not standard OS, it ships with Aliyun OS.
There is Zopo C2 sale started at Pandawill for $244 + Free $29 pack (extra battery, screen protector, case, sport watch, and balloon). Just ordered yesterday one.
I ordered Star S5 Butterfly and recieved it yesterday (see link in VK's comment above). Shipping via DHL was fast but took them a week to actually dispatch it. Communication with Pandawill was a bit weird (repeated e-mails for all kinds of details they already had, etc) - but nothing bad, just a bit chaotic.
I have never owned a proper smart phone before, so I can't compare it to anything - but it seems to work as expected. It comes with some sort of chinese voice recognizition widget that I can't figure out how to turn off - but not a big deal.
The phone is slim and light, and doesn't feel big in my pocket, but it takes time to get used handling the 5" screen - maybe I should have gotten a bit smaller one, but this is just a matter of personal taste. If I encounter any more serious problems later on I'll update this comment - but otherwise this seems to be a pretty good deal.
Edit: Initially I had some problems with GPS but seems to have started to work - so possibly unrelated to the phone.
Most probably it'll be next MTK, as they are very popular.
Today, Marvell announced a new quad core LTE single chip solution. http://www.lightreading.com/marvell-intros-quadcore-lte-chip/240155327
I'm sure we'll see something like this inside these Chinese phones before long.
They lack 4G, plus you need to search for phone that is compatible with specific network.
While all that remains true, I like what Samsung did with the Galaxy S3. I believe they call it a world phone, where the hardware is the same(although possibly locked) and operates on multiple different networks.
It may be unlikely to make a phone that works on all networks, but one that works on many LTE networks will sell better than one that works on none.
This chip from Qualcomm(or something similar) may make this happen sooner. http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/22/qualcomm-first-global-lte-chip/
LTE is quite different in different countries, different frequencies, etc. And small coverage still.
FullHD becomes new standard of chinese phones, and prices are very affordable :-)
Plus it is good screens
IPS screen, Corning II gorilla glass, 2.5D bent glass, OGS full lamination
Yes, it has advantage. But not too large. If you like to browse or read something it makes things better.
I wonder if full HD has an advantage over say 1280x720? I mean, at which point do you stop seeing a difference on a 5 inch screen? I also wonder if higher pixels require more processing and battery and might thus be less practical?
Anyone here tried this high resolution on such a small device?
