I want to ask most important question now.
Where the fuck is my favourite pink version?
Maximum time to record motion pictures continuously with [MP4] is 29 minutes 59 seconds or up to 4 GB.
This is simply moronic.
With each iteration of Panasonic mirrorless, they are shuffling their cameras to special focussed groups. GF went from featured to simple (interface). The G series went from featured to middle (loosing mic socket to not compete with GH). GH high end has been on steady ground. But I think GH series might also be split to create even higher price class, think GHX-PRO. But with all these models, Panasonic is loosing a bit of focus, while on paper it look cool: GF5, GX1, G3, GH2. Yeah, we have something for everyone, but who is this everyone? And difference between models is slight. And very confusing for the consumer.
Still, I think for Panasonic it makes sense to have an easy mirrorless entry level model. Problem is, I don't think they are going far enough with the easy part. The interface and features could really be stripped in the GF5. In this day and age, iPhone (or any phone camera) = easy to use. GF5 = far from easy to use (for many people). Camera UI design is still stuck in digital camera world language.
Thing is that Panasonic cameras are now best choice if you don't have much money.
They are cheap, focus fast, made good. And sell very good.
I do not care otherwise (almost forgot! Where is my pink version?)
Various motherfuckers (aka "bloggers") paid by other manufacturers start to rumble soon, of course.
But they need to eat, so let em. They are so fun to read sometimes, so stupid.
Yeah, Panasonic is the most value in this mirrorless market. They are doing good, still I think the easy part for the entry level can be made much easier and open up the market for them even more. I'm so used to getting great UI experience from mobile (phone) OS, that less experience is not so great experience. If you really want to differentiate models, I think UI would be the step to go. Also most people don't need many functions, they just want to point and shoot, take great pictures every time. Many people don't want to think. Then also tackle the constant overlap in price between the Panasonic models.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev Not pink enough for you? ;)
I can understand that its for a certain market. Not for the Rangefinder/DSLR fanboy thats for sure!
But its getting harder to get excited over any Panasonic announcement recently. Its all a bit stale.
I'm wondering if camera manufacturers are starting to hit a wall (each newer model is becoming less of a improvement over the last) or tightening their money belts (same shit different package).
They should let go of the lack of manual video controls in lower models (never hurt sales of nex/alpha line) but then I think Panny have too many models on the go and this could be the problem.
I wait to see how the GH3 is. Im not hoping for much... just better photo ability. Video is already great.
Nice they finally made a better screen though! ;-D
Nope this is red one, and I need proper one:

Excitemtnt means some marketing error :-) Normal acconcment must be, well, normal..

I hear same things for years. They hit the wall, break it and go up to next wall. It is nature.

I completely understand lack of video manual controls in such cameras (does not mean that I like it).
As results of their presence in cheap system camera can be very costly for support.
Im interested in it as a stills camera. This is such a noob question, what is this Live Mos sensor, something brand new or just a new name on something we've had before?
I got GF2 cause GF3 is mono ... :-( They add some features but remove some other important ones ... Hope GH3 will not be a "Downgrade" ...
They add some features but remove some other important ones
Can you specify that they removed in GF5 compared to GF3?
Has anyone found raw or high res samples yet?
@Vitaliy_Kiselev, GF3 has no stereo mic, no hot shoe ... compared to GF2, GF5 looks more like GF3 but i like the "miniature" recording (GX1 also) good for time lapse (not a real time lapse but ...)
Question was "that they removed in GF5 compared to GF3".
And I see only added things here.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev, well, for this question you are right +1 ...
What panasonic should do is make hybrid tablet/compact camera with full HD lcd and camera built in :)
I'm not sure if GF5 have full manual control, as GF2 there is no real full manual control ?!
I missed this link:

1080/60p?
The iso was kind of a disappointment, think ill buy the GF3 after all. It looks like if GF3 had some major noise reduction. http://www.lenstip.com/1984-news-Panasonic_Lumix_GF5_vs_Panasonic_Lumix_GF3.html
Personally it is hard to get excited over the low end of the camera market. The more they come, the more they all look the same, and that is how I feel when I swing by Akihabara or Shinjuku. That is the same feeling I get when I look at the Japanese phones, and then in the same store(s)...you really can see the differences like night and day.. the Apple difference. No wonder, on any Sunday, the Apple store in Ginza is always packed. Truth is the low end of the camera market is being eaten alive by iPhone and clones from Samsung. And the disappearing low end market with its volume is a real problem for all these camera companies. The low volume high end DSLR market is not sustainable unless there is a lot of volume somewhere else to fund R&D. More worrisome is those phones keep getting better.
Well, from what I've read about the GF5 - besides better low noise features - the GF2 still is the best out of the GF models for filming along with it's hotshoe. Not to forget, the GF2 is by far the cheapest of them all...
