My MacBook Pro can not handle files recorded with the Sedna AQ1 patch

  • I have tried VLC player but when I try to open the .MTS file with the Sedna AQ1 footage the VLC player also quits

  • first of all: if possible go for more RAM. 4GB ist not enough for any kind of work on graphics or video.

QT does not play .mts. VLC does but the data rate of SEDNA or MYSTERIUM is to high, it does not play well neither on my MacPro nor on my MBP i7 / 16GB RAM. Try mPlayerX which works on my hardware but imo image quality is worse. Anyhow it should be enough for fast footage review.

I convert my files immediately to ProRes HQ with 5DtoRGB. They are ready for editing and play well in QT an VLC too.

  • VLC player usually does the trick...drop the footage onto your desktop before playing it...that's what i do with my Imac
