AMD X670E, X670 and B650 chipsets for AM5 AMD processors
  • image

AMD, along with the launch of the Socket AM5 platform for the new generation Ryzen 7000 (Raphael) processors, will release three chipsets: AMD X670E, X670 and B650.

All three chipsets will reportedly be announced at Computex 2022 next week. The source also said that the X670E chipset version will be "special". The letter "E" in its name stands for Extreme. In other words, motherboards based on it will be flagship solutions.

It is also noted that board models based on the AMD X670E system logic set will receive support for the PCIe Express 5.0 standard, both for graphics accelerators and for M.2 format NVMe solid-state drives. The regular version of the AMD X670 chipset will only support the PCIe 4.0 standard.

  • Gigabyte have confirmed in their latest press release that their presence at Computex 2022 will focus on “Power of Computing”. Among many products that will be shown, the company will be introducing its new AMD X670 motherboards.

The X670 is the next-gen chipset for AM5-based motherboards. The new series will host Ryzen 7000 processors based on Zen4/Raphael architecture. AMD has already confirmed it will be a LGA1718 socket and that X670 series will support DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen5 devices.

In the PR, Gigabyte lists all motherboards that will be shown, including X670 AORUS Xtreme, X670 AORUS Master, X670 AORUS Pro AX and X670 AERO D series:

  • Schemes, note how AMD cheated and specially restricted B650

Note that X670 and X670E are software only difference (and on motherboard features level).

PCIe 5.0 enabled on higher chipsets are also software restriction (coupled with cheaper motherboard design, but it is $2-5 total difference)..

Now AMD is making only B650 chipsets and using pair of them, as some kind of bad extender.

Note how strange is usage of PCIe 4.0 for communication with chipset, as it makes no sense at all. Main design goal here is restrict number of possible fast PCIe lines from chipset in such way.

  • Important thing to remember - you need E version if you plan new fast GPU and fastest SSD.

  • AMD is the new old Intel, all about keeping just the enough top performance and blocking features for the sake of it, making it all over complicated and stupid. For me and all the years I’ve dedicated to teach myself more and more about this, It seem like when you are on top of tech dog you become an imbecile.

At any system this rules applies.

When parity is achieved at any ratio to the infinite, then, equilibrium is formed, thus beauty and stability is achieved and the system is stable and rightly tuned at a perfect pair to pair subsystems interactions.

Add a third unit to the system, inparity is formed and a dinamically stable chaos is immediately achieved. Creating new interactions between every pair because now 1 unit is alone, and always interacting which other by pushing a unit to make itself a new pair, thus leaving a new unit alone and repeating this to same action to the infinite.

That is why all systems alive are impair. We humans have Two eyes two hands two legs, for perfect equilibrium but only one heart. Even our brain is divided in two, for better performance no chaotic state. Why you think we have 5 fingers ? Is more dynamic nature makes the hand more useful.

So systems based on pair numbers 2,4,6,8 etc, always be beautiful stable and perfect and harmonious.

Systems tuning on 3,5,7,9 etc will always be dynamically changing, beautiful cos pairs are inside , but chaotic and dynamic constantly changing always.

For me this is why on quantum mechanics parity is very important, all else is unstable thus adding the necessary chaos to dynamically change ANY System in time.

This is why we need a third competitor on chip manufacturing and this is why apple silicon is so important. Apple is the odd number, apple is 3, now the system is unbalanced and pairs are constantly forming with one left alone. This dynamic nature will benefit in advancement but it will be very chaotic in nature.

You will all se, the arrival of a new 4th competitor and the stagnation of the market in no time. It will al be beautiful but also stalled and boring.
