Apple's ultra-colorful new iMacs will include wireless Touch ID capabilities. This will allow users to log in, swap profiles and complete purchases with Apple Pay on the iMac. The feature will be built into specific versions of the Magic Keyboard that will be sold alongside the fresh iMac line.

It had been long known inside company, as divisions have plans on collecting identification information.

Going outside iOS is long planned move, and having M1 had been necessary step for it, as processor is able to send information to Apple via very hard to find injections without any OS interference, making it almost impossible to find and identify. It is similar to Intel ME processor cores, but much more advanced.
