what to do with the water condensation inside a respirator when using it for long time? you just put a tissue there?

  • what to do with the water condensation inside a respirator when using it for long time? you just put a tissue there?

In normal respirator it is no such thing.

What exact one do you have with such?

It's local fabrication, not such as 3M with a valve.

  • @RoadsidePicnic

So, it does not have exale valve?

You need to find such that has this.

  • Pelosi Orders Mandatory Mask-Wearing

“Members and staff will be required to wear masks in the halls of the House," she says, adding she can direct House sergeant-at-arms to tell members to leave if they aren't wearing one.

  • Algorithms created before the pandemic generally perform less accurately with digitally masked faces

“With the arrival of the pandemic, we need to understand how face recognition technology deals with masked faces,” said Mei Ngan, a NIST computer scientist and an author of the report. “We have begun by focusing on how an algorithm developed before the pandemic might be affected by subjects wearing face masks. Later this summer, we plan to test the accuracy of algorithms that were intentionally developed with masked faces in mind.”

  • Thousands of Germans took to the streets of Berlin on Saturday to protest the country's coronavirus measures - including wearing facemasks - which the protesters refer to as a "muzzle."

Ruling class now using pull - push strategy, from unfounded measures where they do not talk with people as grown ups to arranging protests that later lead to tens of thounads of people deaths.

The protesters are a mix of 'far right' and 'ordinary people.

And right wing play their role.

  • Very dangerous trend in China

China launched a huge effort to produce protective gear to meet shortages during the outbreak, which first emerged in the country late last year before spreading across the globe.

More than 73,000 companies registered as mask makers in the first half of the year – including over 36,000 new companies in April alone – as prices and demand soared.

But the influx of new companies led to a “dilution in quality”, according to China-based researchers at Daxue Consulting, as firms from carmakers to diaper producers converted production lines to make masks.

Now the outbreak is largely under control in mainland China, domestic mask demand has dropped dramatically, pushing prices down.

“Our orders have been slashed five or sixfold since April,” said Yang Hao, a sales director at CCST, a company in the southern city of Shenzhen that makes air purifiers but added masks to its repertoire. “We do not need to produce masks days and nights every day now.”

Some of the companies that piled into the industry are now backing out.

Companies said orders had dropped significantly and some said they were refocusing their business.

“Our company has several business lines, we stepped up the production of masks when the pandemic hard-hit China, but we will shift back to our other productions in the future,” said one sales director surnamed Xu at a company that makes medical products in northern Hebei province.

Xu said the company now sells each mask for 0.4 yuan (about six US cents) – a quarter of the price they sold for at the height of China’s domestic outbreak earlier this year.

After international complaints about low grade products, Chinese authorities now demand a certificate of quality for those looking to export masks, which has also hit some of the smaller producers.

Between March and May, China exported more than 50 billion face masks – a tenfold increase for total production last year, according to analysts.

Actually we still have huge masks shortage, and all this issues arise because western goverments fully understand that having people wearing amsks help with less dead bodies but it significantly hurts businesses, and as ruling class is always proper servant of business interest - it is making choice to perform genocide.

  • “All these countries recommending face masks haven’t made their decisions based on new studies,” said Henning Bundgaard, chief physician at Denmark’s Rigshospitale, according to Bloomberg News.

"From a medical point of view, there is no evidence of a medical effect of wearing face masks, so we decided not to impose a national obligation," said Medical Care Minister Tamara van Ark.

“Face masks in public places are not necessary, based on all the current evidence,” said Coen Berends, spokesman for the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment.

“There is no benefit and there may even be negative impact.”

“With numbers diminishing very quickly in Sweden, we see no point in wearing a face mask in Sweden, not even on public transport,” said Anders Tegnell, Sweden’s top infectious disease expert.

This is how genocide being implemented and will affect people who do not want to read and fight fot themsels and their interests.

It is very simple trick in few steps.

    1. Propose and talk only about cheapest surgical masks
    2. Use fake paid for research showing their inefficiency (always possible if you wear them wrong or for long time)
    3. Always ignore even respirators with exale valve as they solve most issues, this ignorance is intentional
    4. Few times journalists pointed out on using better tools it had been dissolved by referring that protection is needed for others, but not yourself, hence exale valve is bad. Totally moron thing.
    5. In parallel all EU states and other countries also learned how to fake statistics and maximally increase number of people who stay home during being sick.
    6. Unoficially goverment asked business not to impose strict rules in many countries, as it is also in business interest to make people feel more normal to increase spending.
  • A large coalition of labour unions and climate action groups have petitioned the US health and homeland security departments to take over the manufacture and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE).

The unions, including the AFL-CIO, the Service Employees International Union, the American Federation of Teachers and the Amalgamated Transit Union, represent more than 15 million workers, from nurses to flight attendants to nannies. The administration is required to respond within 15 days.

The groups could sue if they do not receive a response.

Something is up with invincible market hand. As it only managed to hike prices but not managed to provide proper PPE in necessary amount.

  • LG PuriCare Wearable - interesting, but little strange thing

    • Small 820mAh battery
    • Two fans
    • HEPA filters
    • Ultraviolet disinfection case (stupid as they have closed filters)

Looks like LG made something using their designers of vacuum cleaners. As idea of using such fans is smart only if accompanies by super smart sensors, as they will prevent both inhaling (such small fans must be really super fast and loud to supply proper amount of air) and exhaling (as here they need so fully stop at once). Holes of in plastic filter covers are tiny and will prevent even unassisted breathing. LG also do not get why 3M construction is such as it is - monolithic approach allows to prevent accidental leaks that will be plague of such complex design as LG made.

  • “If the Government’s aim is to minimise transmission of the virus, its guidelines must be clear enough to prevent this trade-off, emphasising that masks are not an alternative to social distancing,” Luckman urged.

“We need more evidence to determine at what point the risks of reducing physical distance outweigh the benefits of wearing a mask,” he added.

“To start with having face masks and then think[ing] you can crowd your buses or your shopping malls — that’s definitely a mistake,” Tengell has emphasised.

Well, just stop promoting two things - one use surgical masks and social distancing. Moving to proper masks solve all issues without shortcomings.

  • Eight people in Indonesia were forced to dig the graves of coronavirus victims as penance for not wearing their masks when leaving their homes.

    Superb idea.

I propose to make them dig their own grave and pay for 3 months reservation of it.

  • And this is opposite example with stupid idea

  • Mordor updates

The maximum production capacity for medical masks is almost 20 million pieces per day. At the beginning of March it was 600 thousand pieces in total.

This is little lie as even in February they talked about 1.5 millions, all else they imported from China.

Real requirement is around 200-290 millions masks per day. For real total mask mode.

For other types of PPE, production capabilities have reached - respirators, 530 thousand units per day, 200 thousand protective suits, 114 thousand pairs of gloves.

Around 80-90% of them are cheap respirators and fully unbreathable protective suits (so medics literally suffer in them).

Enterprises are not working to the fullest, they are focusing on market demand, some of them use their capacities at 50%, some at 80%. But even this is enough to close the domestic market with a margin and, among other things, to carry out export supplies.

This is at the time average person uses one time use surgical mask for 8-10 days.

  • I can mention my experience in a ceramics plant. P100 style respirators - nobody wears them except for areas that require it N95 masks - ditto blue medical masks - maybe 50% including myself wear them. It is mandatory in the public areas - they are ok but are awful when I get hot and sweaty - I will take them off to drink or to dry them with a paper towel.
elastic face hoods and cloth masks - the other 50%. I've never used them but many do. nothing at all - it happens quite a lot when 'on the floor' since everybody takes masks off.
There have been cases but they've so far been contained to interactions outside of the plant. There was a plant emergency this week and there was lots of close-contact between some people in masks and others not in masks at various points of the response. Hopefully nobody had the virus, but I'll find out my fate soon enough

  • P100 style respirators - nobody wears them except for areas that require it N95 masks - ditto blue medical masks - maybe 50% including myself wear them.

What exactly is "P100 style respirators" here? As only sealed (and where you can check sealing!) half and full face masks exist with such rating.

Whole idea with real life P3/P100 half mask usage is to get QL version and not having it on absolutely full time. But few hours even in hot temperature is not so bad after training and if you are not smoker or such :-)

Also it is hard to get that N95 mask is. As it is ton of them, and wearing one without proper good valve is not good idea.

  • @Vitaliy....actually if the mask has a valve, it does nothing to protect other people if the mask wearer is sick, which is half the reason for wearing it.

  • @kurth

...actually if the mask has a valve, it does nothing to protect other people if the mask wearer is sick, which is half the reason for wearing it.

First, it is not true. Good mask valve guide air down and you can't cough on someone else.

Second, idea to "protect other people" sounds quite nice, but in reality it does not work as it sounds. As most people who are getting sick now are not wearing masks. It works partly if you have very high discipline and total mask mode.

Third, people who due to lack of valve have extra wet and not working mask that they also avoid to wear are much worse.

  • @Vitaliy....good mask with valve....puts contaminated air into the ambient air just like you don't even have a mask. Everything else is bs.
