Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Digital Camera + Mount Adapter EF-EOS R Kit for $1046
That was a fair review. Many of the youtube reviews don't look at the RP from a very rational practical and economical angle. They set very high and broad expectations for an entry level camera. I bought the RP out of curiosity, and have to say that it is extremely enjoyable to shoot with for photos and video. Out of the box, the IQ on the photos is IMO really nice which is quite a timesaver in post. Granted the fps in burst is slow, but not having to worry about the buffer while shooting f.ex. dance is very calming. I've shot on Sony for video and stills the last 6 years, but the ease of shooting with the RP has me rethinking (I used Canon before Sony). It seems to me after using the RP for a couple of weeks, that if I switch back to Canon the amount of keepers I can get through the much better interface and especially how AF is implemented through it will increase quite drastically compared to working in a Sony system. And also - the EF-R adapter is very well executed. I used to have the a-mount - FE adapter for Sony and it was a pain for video, and not good for stills. the ef-r adapter has worked flawlessly with every brand and non-brand lens I've tested, which gives me the confidence to use all my lenses for work as well.
New firmware V1.2.0
- Support for the RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM lens has been added.
- Corrects a phenomenon in which the top of some captured images may be dark during high-speed sync shooting with an external flash.
