May be you underestimate usual people?
As it is really huge industry now, and you don't even realize how many top people are digging in your personal data (mostly using t for AI training, ads, etc).

I love this quote. A lot of really talented people I know earn money that way. It's truly sad.

Even more sad that almost any site can't earn money for their own content and can only get something by showing various unwanted info aka ads.
This is stuff opposite logic and progress.
