Vitec Imaging Solutions will present its four class-leading consumer brands together for the first time at the 2018 edition of Photokina: Manfrotto, Lowepro, Gitzo and Joby, displaying the widest and most innovative collections of accessories for capturing and sharing images. Improvement in camera technology and capability, the popularity of mirrorless cameras and the expansion of devices for images capturing, together with the growing demand for video contents means an expanding demand for premium accessories, boosted by a diverse and more complex community of images content creators, from professionals to advanced consumers who are looking for brands that provide compelling solutions to their fast changing needs. Vitec will showcase Gitzo, Manfrotto, Lowepro and Joby in a unique immersive booth that will present over 50 new products under the new Looking 4ward tagline, offering imaging enthusiast a seamless consumer experience that meets increasingly diverse needs.

Manfrotto addresses all professional and advanced hobbyist photographers and videographers who seek premium quality and top performance; Lowepro is dedicated to the outdoor adventure world and is aimed at content creators who want to explore the world and capture life; Gitzo is the top of choice brand for professionals and prosumers dedicated to nature and wildlife photography; and Joby, the brand of the iconic GorillaPod, has extended its product portfolio dedicated to smart-phonography, to fully cater to the needs of this fast-growing segment. Manfrotto, will launch a massive extension of its travel segment under its Befree flagship collection with three new travel tripods: the hybrid Befree 2N1, Befree Nerissimo signature editions and the Befree Live with video head and new leg locking system. As for bags, Manfrotto will further expand its Urban and Studio line up with the very first complete collection of professional photographic Pro Light Reloader roller bags, consisting of six light, secure and durable carry-on solutions.

For the first time together with its full GorillaPod range, JOBY will showcase the entire TelePod family, a range of advanced selfie sticks and compact tripods designed for vloggers; the new HandyPod, a compact table tripod solution for both smartphones, ILC and sound recording devices and the GorillaPod Video Pro, the well-known GorillaPod legs paired with a brand new fluid video head that allow for smooth, lightweight movements while filming amazing adventures on the go.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- To the delight of film enthusiasts across the globe, Eastman Kodak Company today announced plans to bring back one of its most iconic film stocks. Over the next 12 months, Kodak will be working to reformulate and manufacture KODAK EKTACHROME Film. Initial availability is expected in the fourth quarter of 2017.

KODAK EKTACHROME Film has a distinctive look that was the choice for generations of cinematographers before it was discontinued in 2012. The film is known for its extremely fine grain, clean colors, great tones and contrasts.

“It is such a privilege to reintroduce KODAK EKTRACHROME Film to the cinematography community,” said Steven Overman, Kodak’s Chief Marketing Officer and President of the Consumer and Film Division. “We are seeing a broad resurgence of excitement about capturing images on film. Kodak is committed to continuing to manufacture film as an irreplaceable medium for image creators to capture their artistic vision, and we are proud to help bring back this classic.”

Kodak will produce EKTACHROME at its film factory in Rochester, NY, and will distribute the Super 8 version of EKTACHROME Film directly.

Kodak Alaris, an independent company since 2013, also plans to offer a still format KODAK PROFESSIONAL EKTACHROME Film for photographers in 135-36x format. KODAK PROFESSIONAL EKTACHROME Film is a color positive film, also known as “reversal,” “slide,” or “transparency” film. Unlike all of the other KODAK PROFESSIONAL Films available today, which are color negative films, EKTACHROME generates a positive image that can be viewed or projected once it is exposed and processed. This makes it ideal for high-resolution projection or presentations. It is also well suited for scanning and printing onto a range of professional grade photographic media. Availability is expected sometime in the fourth quarter of 2017.
