Ptools and WInebottler

    I have been following the instructions and have not been able to get past downing firmware and wine bottler. I've put an ini, bin and exe in one folder. I have wine and wine bottler. When I double click ptools.exe file I get message to install X11. I can't get past this. Why is all this stuff for PC when most of us creatives are on MACS. I love the GH2 but magic lantern is so much easier to install cross platform.

    I use it all the time on a mac and it works fine.

    What version of Mac OSX are you running? It no longer comes with X11.

    You should download X Quartz and install.

    Then you simply click on the pTool exe and it will open in Wine Bottler. I ignore the dialogue and just let it open as is.

    Check the latest development version of Winebottler, it doesn't need X11 installation http://adf.ly/SUo0x

    i use crossover to use ptools, believe its not free but works great for win apps ! http://www.codeweavers.com/products/

    I am on 10.8.4. Thanks will try Quartz download. Good to see there are other mac guys here. I appreciate the replies
