This is a really good news for sony users.

All Nex related undewater video were shot with the 16mm lens and VLC-ECU1 ultra wide adapter. Now this lens has a AOV of 109°-76° It's perfect for uw use.

Moreover it has OIS while the Panny 7-14mm has not.

@Vitaliy_Kiselev Do you mean that an updated version is coming just a moment before I pull the trigger on this lens? :(

But you can use it only as manual lens. Useless underwater. Then you could buy the $300 LA-EA2 adapter but still I don't know a uw housing manufacturer which has a port for this combo.

After setting the Sony Nex 10-18mm f/4 OSS lens through its paces and compared with its competitors, whats the verdict? In a nutshell, I would say its superb. Its light, its OSS does its job well, its sharp in most situations and I would dare say as sharp as any Canon L wide angle zoom. But it’s performance at 12mm is a little disappointing at long distances and at 18mm don’t expect stellar results at short distances. But at 16mm its a beauty.
