How to do propper testing?
  • Hello! I'm one of those that like to read technical specifications and look at graphs. But right now testing settings I just look at what cards work and how much detail is preserved in the shadows. So how to do a proper test on a video footage? What should I film and what tools to use to look at the footage and other parameters? Thank You! Janis

  • Film detailed scenes and/or motion and test with Chris Brandin's Streamparser avialable free on personal-view (search for the link) and also download Elecard trials of Streameye, etc.. for pixel peeking, Quantisation peeking, motion vectors and stability, etc... Use NLE's to test out an overall look and check how far your recordings grade particularly in the shadows.
