"progressive in an interlaced wrapper"
  • I'm editing together some 1080 25p footage in Vegas but two of the cameras used were Panasonic GH2s which I believe flag their progressive footage as interlaced.

It looks horrible when rendered to a progressive file with lots of jagged lines, and this persists even when altering the media properties of these files in Vegas to "field order: none (progressive)".

I've looked at the files with Metadata++ in the hope of being able to adjust whichever tag or flag was signalling that the files were interlaced but I can't see any likely options.

What am I doing wrong here? Or is the GH2 24p footage simply not actually progressive and I am fighting a losing battle?
