  • $28 really?!

  • The Canon RF 16mm f2.8 is $299, and its minimum focus distance is 13cm. And, unlike this noname lens with its bulbous front element, the Canon lens takes normal filter threads (43mm). The Canon optical design only has 9 elements in 7 groups, so this new lens wins on complexity. And, yes, the Canon lens relies on digital correction in the camera.

As I understand it is metal lens with good manual focusing, contrary to Canon one.

  • Metal= heavier, but not stronger.

Good manual focus (mechanical and linear, yes) but because no AF? No electronic aperture? No electronic contacts at all? Real questions that are important.
