Russian network sources report that the GitHub service for hosting IT projects and their joint development has begun blocking the accounts of Russian companies and developers. This practice, as noted, came into force this week.
GitHub positions itself as a social network for developers. In addition to posting code, members can chat, comment on each other's edits, and follow news and updates.
Dozens of big Russian accounts are reportedly blocked. Among them are the accounts of Sberbank, VTB, as well as lot of small individual developers.
“When blocking a corporate account, access to data can be maintained for two hours, for a personal account, access is limited instantly,” SecurityLab.ru notes.
