Bloomberg today released information that first appeared on the pages of The Wall Street Journal. The publication, citing its own sources, reported that Intel is considering the purchase of the Israeli company Tower Semiconductor, which specializes in contract manufacturing of analog components in Israel, the United States and Japan.
It is alleged that the processor giant is ready to pay from $5 to $6 billion for the assets of this specialized contract manufacturer, although Tower Semiconductor's capitalization did not exceed $3.56 billion before the rumors appeared.
