CES: January

5-7 January, CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is a trade fair dedicated to electronic devices, has lot of new products, prototypes and new technologies in various fields. So far, it seems that the number of companies that are not exhibiting at the venue is increasing due to the influence of Omicron virus. Sony is scheduled to exhibit at this time.

CP +: Venue February 24-27 / Online February 22-27

CP +, which will be held in Yokohama, is a world premiere show of cameras and photographic images. They are planning to hold a hybrid event both locally and online. CP + has been held online last year, so I hope this year's CP + will be a more sophisticated event. Also, the way the exhibiting companies communicate, or the ability to communicate, is becoming more important.

WPPI: February 27th-March 3rd

An event focused  on weddings and portrait photography, held around the same time as CP +. Overseas, new information may appear from WPPI instead of CP +.

NAB

23-27 April, The NAB Show is said to be the world's largest broadcasting equipment exhibition, and is an event for professionals rather than consumers. In the last few years, the boundary between still images and videos has disappeared, and this is a video event that consumers are paying attention to. It will be a time when video-oriented mirrorless cameras and professional equipment are likely to be announced.

CHINA P & E: Is

It like CP + at a camera event held in China from April 15th to 18th. Unpublished Chinese interchangeable lenses and accessories may be exhibited and become a hot topic via overseas rumor sites.

PHOTONEXT:

Photographers & Photo Business Fair to be held at Pacifico Yokohama from June 7th to 8th . The main event is professional equipment and merchandise, photo seminars and outlets are also held, and admission is free without prior registration.

LA EXPO: June 

9-12 CineGear Expo LA completely cinema-oriented event. Depending on the manufacturer, the development may be announced at NAB and officially announced at CineGearExpoLA. "ATL EXPO 2022" is scheduled to be held in Atlanta in October.

IFA:

Consumer Electronics Show in Berlin , September 2-6. It will be an event on a scale comparable to CES held in North America.

IBC Show:

Europe's largest broadcasting equipment exhibition to be held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands from September 9th to 12th. We can expect the announcement of professional equipment such as camcorders and cine lenses.

The Photography Show / The Video Show:

A photo and video event for beginners and professionals in the UK from September 17th to 20th.

PHOTOPIA Hamburg:

A trade fair held as an alternative event for Photokina from October 13th to 16th . At the time of the announcement of the event, it received a lot of attention, but unfortunately the news being held did not reach Japan. It will be interesting to see if this upcoming event will be a venue for major product announcements like Photokina.

PhotoPlus

2021 has been canceled and is scheduled to be held in 2022, but the detailed schedule has not been announced as of January 1, 2022. It is usually held in October and is a major photography event in North America. When Photokina existed, it was also the place where the new products announced at Photokina were first released to the public in North America.

Inter BEE: A

Comprehensive media and entertainment exhibition to be held in Japan from November 16th to 18th. 2021 was a hybrid of the venue and online, but we don't know the details of what will happen in 2022 at this time. I personally check Canon's online events.

A photography event held in Paris, France. It seems that it has not been updated since 2019.
