    Pushing new store, inability to install basic Home version of OS offline and without full Microsoft account registration.

    It also rumored now that Windows 11 will be pushed as Windows 10 update, automatically.

    The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is a chip that is either integrated into your PC’s motherboard or added separately into the CPU. Its purpose is to help protect encryption keys, user credentials, and other sensitive data behind a hardware barrier so that malware and attackers can’t access or tamper with that data.

    Actual purpose for TMP is opposite - for CIA and government to have instant access to your encryption keys. This is why authors of good encryption software are always being treated bad, as having lot of custom encryption and not having key around is bad for them.

    Immediately after the presentation of Windows 11, the developers announced that TPM 2.0 would be required to install it. However, the next day, Microsoft relaxed the requirements and said that TPM 2.0 was a recommendation and that TPM 1.2 would be sufficient to install the OS. Now the requirements have changed once again and TPM 2.0 has become a must again. A Microsoft spokesman confirmed that "TPM 2.0 is the minimum requirement and Windows 11 will not install without it."

    TPM 2.0 is required for OS as service model.

    We can see this as soon as next year already in some niches.

    the forced patch update from 10 to 11 should go perfectly smooth as users find out they don't have tpm 2.0 and get a blue screen of death and lose all data.

    Windows 11 is due out later in 2021 and will be delivered over several months. The rollout of the upgrade to Windows 10 devices already in use today will begin in 2022 through the first half of that year.

    In its official blog, Microsoft announced that it will test the 7th generation Intel Core processors and the first generation AMD Ryzen processors for compatibility with the new OS.

    I think it is beyond anything, as Windows 11 has zero reasons to not work on same hardware Win 10 is working.

    None of my PC, laptops support TPM2.0 so until I buy new PCs, win11 has to wait a few years at a minimum. Sorry, MS, that is a truly dumb upgrade path you shove down folks' throats.

    Do not worry so much.

    Windows 11 for Mordor and China won't have this requirement, due to crypto issues.

    In short - TPM is designed by NSA and can be accessed even remotely if you are high value target.

    The company told that PCs with unsupported CPUs aren't 'entitled' to get Windows 11 updates, and might not even get driver or security upgrades. You may have to get more recent hardware just to keep your system secure, in other words.

    Are they going to shoot themselves in the foot? Because lack of updates can mean lack of job for up to 70% of Windows team people, as all they do is making holes and fixing them in their boring day to day routine. And changing windows borders corners and background photos, of course.

    It is big struggle inside, as Microsoft had been paid to push people to new computers but they also want to profit from anyone who stays.
