From time to time across the web you can hear that the developed countries of the West are already in a certain "post-industrial" stage of development. At the same time, it is completely forgotten (denied) that capitalism is the same throughout the world and is at the same stage. Developed countries are not in a post-industrial world, but enjoy the position of metropolises.
They do not need practically any kind of production, because they are metropolises and can brazenly and shamelessly obtain everything they need for their existence by means of colonial plunder. The only things they have to produce in order to maintain their colonial omnipotence are high-tech weapons and glass beads. Weapons are needed to intimidate the natives, and "glass beads" are needed to bribe their leaders ("sticks and gingerbread"). It is this structure of production that is commonly called "postindustrial".
From the point of view of the economy in general and colonial countries in particular, such countries are purely parasitic. These countries are robbers who live at someone else's expense. Moreover, they can no longer live at their own expense in principle, because most branches of production are completely destroyed and they do not have even a single technological chain with a closed cycle.
Post-industrialism is the final stage in the development of an economic parasite, when all the organs in it have already atrophied, except for those that are necessary for parasitism with impunity. All that remains are the robbery and violence mechanisms needed to keep their victims submissive and force them to provide an uninterrupted supply to parasite.
