Get "digital zoom", a feature that cameras and smartphones had for years;
Modify it just to start the crop in a preset value, instead of the maximum zoom;
Got a patent and ask your viewers to pressure the camera companies to pay for the patent.

Now, in addition of being a bad reviewer, you became a patent troll.

Lot of patents is just nice check mark in some report.

Now firms and scientific organisation have planned numbers on patents, and no one cares if you don't have anything real that worth patenting.

Btw, this exact case won't stand any check, it is just nice PR stunt or Ken is idiot.

Such exact mode exist in lot of camcorders for quite long time. Works almost exactly as described.
