War: Texas going anti Green

  • I read the attachment. (Let's take a moment to appreciate I'm getting my hard facts news from a tech forum run by Lenin's doppelgänger)

Beyond the policy war with the federal administration, which I assume has grounding in how authority is divested in their system, I find the language of the E.O. extraordinary. It could be a Proclamation of Secession from the King in the North, if only a few keywords were to be changed. It speaks of "Texans" as if it were an opressed nation.

In Pullman's "His Dark Materials" novel series, there is this secondary character, the baloonist Lee Scoresby, hailing from the Republic of Texas. In our timeline, the Republic of Texas will colonize Mars in Elon's Starships. The pieces are already moving on the board.

It is still fight, one battle had been lost, but ultra-imperialism that Biden is for will never happen.

Only conceivable basis under capitalism for the division of spheres of influence, interests, colonies, etc., is a calculation of the strength of those participating, their general economic, financial, military strength, etc. And the strength of these participants in the division does not change to an equal degree, for the even development of different undertakings, trusts, branches of industry, or countries is impossible under capitalism. Half a century ago Germany was a miserable, insignificant country, if her capitalist strength is compared with that of the Britain of that time; Japan compared with Russia in the same way. Is it “conceivable” that in ten or twenty years’ time the relative strength of the imperialist powers will have remained unchanged? It is out of the question.

Therefore, in the realities of the capitalist system, and not in the banal philistine fantasies of English parsons, or of the German “Marxist”, Kautsky, “inter-imperialist” or “ultra-imperialist” alliances, no matter what form they may assume, whether of one imperialist coalition against another, or of a general alliance embracing all the imperialist powers, are inevitably nothing more than a “truce” in periods between wars. Peaceful alliances prepare the ground for wars, and in their turn grow out of wars; the one conditions the other, producing alternating forms of peaceful and non-peaceful struggle on one and the same basis of imperialist connections and relations within world economics and world politics.

    V. Lenin Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism

  • Such a great political analyst this Lenin guy was. It's a shame Putin wants to boot him out of the Red Square mausoleum. While I agree with you (and Lenin) that capitalism/imperialism sucks for the little guy, having lived my first 16 years of life under actual socialism/communism, I can attest that system sucks too, in different ways.

Let's see what (portions of) the US of A come up with, after they've had their reckoning. The Chinese have shown that capitalism doesn't require personal liberty. I for one care more for the liberty part than for unbridled enterprise, but I fear liberty is incompatible with advanced technology.

Actually he does not, here only marginal politicians ever said this, more mainstream one are still very afraid even to talk about it.

Having lived my first 16 years of life under actual socialism/communism, I can attest that system sucks too, in different ways.

Because you mostly lived under socialism that had been going fast toward capitalism, more market, more inequality, more trading and so on.

Liberty and freedom are shitty terms, until defined precisely.

If someone owns all land, machines and even electronic money - it is not much freedom or liberty. This is why we have libertarians mostly among small business owners during brief phase, as if they become bigger they change their views and same happens if they go out of business and go work for new owner (as 96% of such guys).

  • @Vitaliy_Kiselev "Because you mostly lived under socialism that had been going fast toward capitalism, more market, more inequality, more trading and so on." In Romania? No, it was going fast towards North Korea.

"If someone owns all land, machines and even electronic money - it is not much freedom or liberty." Of course not, that's techno-feudalism, or corporatocracy, or corporate fascism. I'm a libertarian, corporatocracy and communism are equally evil in my mind. The last point I made was technological progress has a way of reducing personal liberty. Liberty is being a free agent, a consequence of the inability of a higher power to control you. The pirates of the 17/18th centuries were free, the Somali pirates of the 20/21st century not so much. Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness might be incompatible with advanced technology. We''ll come out of the pandemic as fully Orwellian surveillance societies, and at that point I care little if it's the Anglosphere flavor, the EU flavor, the Chinese flavor, or the Mordor flavor. Mordor's might be the most livable, as the society still has the memory of why Stalinism is bad.

You need to open and read serious research on Romania. Stop rely on mass media.

To be short - your top guys made two errors, first by accepting US and WE offers and starting integrating with them and accepting credit money, and second - they behaved wrong as they pulled the hook, by starting giving back credits at the expense of the people and refusing USSR and others help.

I'm a libertarian, corporatocracy and communism are equally evil in my mind.

No such thing as "corporatocracy " exist except in some capitalist media.

Also you need to understand that libertarian views are utopia, and regressive utopia.

Pirates were not free (again, lack definition of "free" here!), it is media that made them such.

Mordor's might be the most livable, as the society still has the memory of why Stalinism is bad.

    I smiled so widely here.

We have around 200 huge anti Stalin and anti communism museums made in last 10 years, each and every film showing how communists are evil shits. Yet each year support for Stalin and his methods is growing (independent research how around 65-70% of population support new round of communist repressions now).

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced a major push to curb Big Tech's political bias and censorship today, with measures including a ban on the censorship of political candidates and mandatory opt-outs of content filters for citizens of the Sunshine State.

In a 45-minute speech, the governor identified Big Tech companies as the leading threat to American democracy and freedom of expression today, and pledged that Florida Republicans would take action.

The new regulations announced by DeSantis include:

    • Mandatory opt-outs from big tech's content filters, a solution to tech censorship.
    • A private right of action for Floridian citizens against tech companies that violate this condition.
    • Fines of $100,000 per day levied on tech companies that suspend candidates for elected office in Florida from their platforms.
    • Daily fines for any tech company "that uses their content and user-related algorithms to suppress or prioritize the access of any content related to a political candidate or cause on the ballot."
    • Greater transparency requirements.
    • Disclosure requirements enforced by Florida's election authorities for tech companies that favor one candidate over another.
    • Power for the Florida attorney general to bring cases against tech companies that violate these conditions under the state's Unfair and Deceptive Practices Act.
