  • wow! great article! in 2028, RED's patent will expire and all cameras, even cheap ones, should be able to record raw and maybe we can even replace luts and ACEs with a non-exposure reliant system, I'm guessing something like spectral-data matrix instead of gamma matrix. That would be able to make RED to Kodak Film conversions, match all cameras regardless of spectral response, and transform absolute values in float instead of the old system. One can only hope!
