Trump wants to close social networks, and it is good for all
  • Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen. We saw what they attempted to do, and failed, in 2016. We can’t let a more sophisticated version of that.... ....happen again. Just like we can’t let large scale Mail-In Ballots take root in our Country. It would be a free for all on cheating, forgery and the theft of Ballots. Whoever cheated the most would win. Likewise, Social Media. Clean up your act, NOW!!!!

Twitter has now shown that everything we have been saying about them (and their other compatriots) is correct. Big action to follow!

Hope he could at least rip them apart enough. Good for all.

  • Marshall McLuhan, pilloried as he was for his views, recommended shutting down media for periods of time within a culture. For him every technology extended our senses (ie our perceptual awareness) in a specific way. When imbalance of senses happened it was time to ease off as it were.

  • I'm hoping the riots will extend to silicon valley ! Burn a few of these mfer's out. Get them on the run.

  • @kurth

At least we can agree on this approach :-)

If this guys will do as they told - move lot of people on distant work it'll be huge changes in the valley.

  • @Vitaliy.... It takes a decade for someone to deprogram themselves, after escaping a cult. Little worms in facebook and google will always be little worms. If you think these cia front organizations are experts at brainwashing the crowd, what they do to their members is far more insidious.

  • I think is an approach too mitigate or reduce the damage of 5G china sniffing on USA people’s data. Emails, confidential stuff you know.

We are in the middle of the transitional model.

Will the technocratic capitalist model win? or socialist technocratic model?

Cos the way I’m seeing the future is more to be like social technocratic model used by Asia than the States.

  • In statements made Thursday, Commissioners Jessica Rosenworcel and Brendan Carr took opposing sides over an executive order targeting Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. Democrat Rosenworcel said that the order “is not the answer” while Republican Carr suggested that the proposal “makes sense.” If the current draft order is signed, the FCC would be at the helm of adjudicating complaints of social media bias online.

    There will be blood.

  • @Vitaliy....not really. It's an empty threat. It's like the dea regulating drug crimes. They always just preferred to control the cartels for their own benefit, rather than punish them, which in the end resulted in cartels controlling the govt. FCC will just be controlled by google. If you want "blood" and just symbolically, just slightly real, they'll have to allow legal action by individuals who've been issued any type of notice, reprimand or censor. A couple of 100million dollar lawsuits won against face, or twitter, or google for violating the first amendment, and it might get interesting.

A couple of 100million dollar lawsuits won against face, or twitter, or google for violating the first amendment, and it might get interesting.

    And this is impossible.

Idea to fight capitalist corporations using law that they write and on the field where they define all the rules (courts) is quite stupid idea.

  • @Vitaliy....no the quite stupid idea I was trying to illustrate was "there will be blood" . There won't be. Short of my illustration, it's just political masturbation.

  • @kurth

It will be clearly some blood, as ruling class is changing its direction.

Both US democratic and Chinese political elites try to go now against interest of their ruling classes, they want to keep things as they had been, nice and sound. Won't work.

It is like running before asphalt compactor and trying to stop it by hands (and constantly complaining that it does not work and is dangerous!).

  • In response Twitter started hiding Trump tweets claiming idiotic things

If you ask me I am for instant and full Twitter shutdown. Won't happen, unfortunately.

  • Well, they don't like this

    https://www.theverge.com/2020/5/29/21273191/trump-twitter-social-media-censorship-executive-order-analysis-bias

Note that Verge is part of company that is openly doing anti Trump stuff.

For purposes of this order, the term “online platform” means any website or application that allows users to create and share content or engage in social networking, or any general search engine.

This order does not only hit “Big Tech.” It also applies to a 20-member birdwatching forum, a cooking blog with a comment section, and all of Trump’s favorite conservative news sites.

    Remember this.

I am already in horror, as everyone knows that PV is totalitarian place (as owner deleted around 30 posts in 9 years, seriously).

  • @Vitaliy...I don't think you need to worry about bimbotrump...or the nsa. Their playing field is inside america, any truth that might influence rooted americans to dump the banksters, and their minions. Specifically I'm not worried . That's why I post here. I was tagged once, and was able to see their demarcation lines. They have considerably less power outside their empire's realm, esp. when it's small potatoes. Lesson... stay small potatoes. Just a source of good truth. Of course you might have other vectors to fear, like paypal. Regardless, it's all an executive order that will be turned over with Biden., which means by the time any enforcement would trickle down the trumpster will be a private citizen and facing his own indictments !

  • @kurth

    It had been sarcasm.

But DMCA is being used against any site around the world, btw (I got notices multiple times in my life also).

  • @Vitaliy....I got more than notices. For the executive order....I like trump breaking some plates. The food doesn't taste good anyway.
