Biggest fun is that it is Panasonic FF lineup that is selling much worse of them all. Being nice cameras they somehow hit the empty space (aka paid bloggers and Panasonic ambassadors!). S1H has some unclear target buyers where it is ton of competition. From my talks dealers aim at the old Panasonic users who are heavy in video, but do not want to use other brands stuff.

Now let's go to Nikon. Marketing idea to use duality (Z6 and Z7) to inflate prices (that Sony began) played bad for Nikon. Cameras are stuck in the mid ground, with sales concentrated only in few areas - pair of EU countries, US and Japan. Rich Chinese are not big fans of Nikon lineup now. And Japan plays more and more important role in sales.

Nikon past idea had been to go up in prices and slightly up in features. And we must see some cameras in upcoming months with similar attitude. But dealers pushed hard and Nikon shifted some release dates and cancelled some DSLR development even more (compared to already very radical 2018 plan).

Present high level talks now is that Nikon want to try to reduce the body margin and at the same time try to use Chinese trade war to hike lenses prices even more. Management now see extremely high margin Z mount lenses as major profits source.
