Rumors in the industry are that Intel has long fight with all major Taiwan motherboard manufacturers about proper prices and margins on Z490 boards.

With recent x570 boards where AMD allowed them to have exorbitant margins, they also pressed Intel about it. And from Intel side it is bad thing, as it also incudes making intentional leaks about false (make it much bigger like AMD did upon request) Z490 chipset price (as you can't buy it anyway, they do it from time to time).

Taiwanese MB manufacturers cartel already represents bid danger for the industry and musty be destroyed.
But it is also very handy for AMD and Intel, as well as many other firms who has very longtime contracts and had been able to completely eliminate competition in their niches.
