Microsoft at Computex 2019 told that one of next major updates will change how further updates will be installed.
Windows 10 will be kept always connected (if possible and internet is being present) with updates being installed by OS without asking and any indication, as well as without any switches in consumer OS editions. Corporate editions will have different approach. Many updates won't require any reboots, but for others OS will reboot automatically using Ai functions to determinate moment without asking.
For urgent security updates OS will reboot instantly even if you are working and if your data is all properly stored.

As software companies are out of any real useful features they can add they now fight to remove user from update path completely, as otherwise it can lead for complete disaster in corresponding divisions, as around 90% of updates now are fixes for intentionally made bugs and stupid "improvements" .
