There is a great deal on the xiaomi 4 49" 4k TV with 10bit panel. In India and China it sells for about 500usd. I can use resxtreme to set the 10bit mode. This thread here ..
https://hardforum.com/threads/displayport-1-2-hdmi-2-0-2-0a-to-get-4k-60hz-10bit-hdr.1896499/
Mentions that 4k 4:4:4 30hz is the limit of HDMI 2.0
Could anyone using 10bit displays with a Mac please chime in?
I use fcp7, resolve, hit film and cs6(ae and ppro).
If I use desktop mode and just output 10bit to the TV, will all these apps work in 10bit?
I am using 2010 cMP upgraded to dual 6core xeons and gtx1060 6gb.
Are you sure that this Xiaomi TV actually support any 10bit mode? Statement of 10bit panel actually means nothing.
Also as far as I understand Nvidia block all 10bit modes in consumer cards (outside games for HDR).

More examples of switchresx used to offer 10bit support
Resxtreme also unlocks 10bit modes
HDMI 2.0 input with 10bit Samsung VA panel. So , I think yes
And this guy got it to work with my card..

You really need to recheck and filter such forum posts. As this guy even does not understand that 32bit mode means. And he is happy despite clearly disabling any 10bit stuff.
To be short - for real 10bit you need Nvidia quadro card and proper monitor.
He is talking about 30bit mode in Photoshop.

Also resxtreme and switchresx unlock 10bit output. I will post screenshot later
Also another thread where they got it to work. Note the edid details and the system level checks to confirm 10bit is enabled.

Basically the mod allows for dp1.2 output 10bit. HDMI is what the guy did by checking 32-bit. Not sure why that worked. I will need to confirm that
Actually guy told that 10bit mode never worked in apps, after this he told how he switched it off and went to 8bit mode (stating that it is 10bit now due to stupidity). And become happy.
In short - you need to ignore most of such forum posts until you perfectly understand things and also have lot of confirmations from really top guys.
