  • Pretty dumb/spiteful to pull down the http://Research.gov and many other websites.

    It really doesn't cost anything to keep up a website!! (assuming of course web hosting is paid in advance, and not on a daily basis! That would be unusual)

  • Much ado about nothing.....This is a poor metric. Most papers are useless (simple test reports etc.). A better metric would be to count the number of referenced papers, i.e. somebody saw value in original paper.

  • What I find most interesting is the EU, USA and "other developed countries" have a tendency to publish less since 2014. Considering how much the public funding and public interest in science has only grew negatively in the past recent years, I'm not even surprised.
