    Intelligent Thermal Data for Critical Missions

    The Zenmuse XT2 is a powerful thermal imaging camera that transforms data into actionable insights. Its gimbal-stabilized, dual-sensor design combines an advanced FLIR® radiometric thermal imager and a 4K visual camera to allow drone operators to view thermal and visual data while in flight, delivering an unmatched level of versatility and image detail for high-performance uses from industrial inspections to public safety operations.

    Professional drone operators can use on-board intelligent features like FLIR MSX® technology to combine visual and temperature data into one image, allowing operators to easily identify objects of concern. DJI's unique Spotlight Pro features let operators focus on safe flight operations and data interpretation while the camera automatically tracks an object through two intelligent flight modes: QuickTrack centers the camera on the selected area while HeatTrack automatically tracks the hottest object in view. The Temp Alarm feature interprets thermal data in real-time and alerts drone operators when an object's temperature exceeds critical thresholds.

    The Zenmuse XT2 is compatible with DJI's Matrice 200 Series and Matrice 600 Pro enterprise drones. Its rugged design and IP44 ingress protection rating gives it versatility to be flown in a wide variety of conditions including rain, snow, smoke and fog[1]. With a 12-megapixel visual camera, it is available in two thermal sensor resolutions of 640 x 512 or 336 x 256, with 9mm, 13mm, 19mm, and 25mm lenses.

  • Ikan STRATUS Line of Camera Cages

    HOUSTON, Texas (March 27, 2018) - Ikan announces the release of four new camera cage rigs, including a follow focus accessories and lens support systems. The latest cages in the STRATUS line form to the Sony a6500, a7II, a7III series camera bodies, as well as the Panasonic GH4 and GH5 camera bodies. Ikan created the line with universality in mind, while maintaining high quality at a mid-level price range.

    Each camera cage in the STRATUS line uses NATO rails for the top handles, which fit Ikan grips. ARCA-Swiss quick release plates make these cages as universal as possible, or the cages can be attached to most photo tripods in place of the ARCA-Swiss plate. The design on each cage includes cut outs for AV ports, access buttons and battery access.

    "The release of the STRATUS line comes in response to a lack of high quality Sony a7III camera rigs at the mid-level price range," says Product Manager Jeffrey Lowe Lochmann. "As we began work on this cage, we saw other opportunities for developing cages in new directions."

    To complete the most common accessories used in camera rig cages, Ikan developed follow focus and lens supports. The follow focus includes hard stops, blue and red bands to distinguish stopping points, and reusable lens gear. Ikan's static lens support adjusts vertically and mounts to 15 mm rods. The dynamic lens support grips the lens for a custom fit and includes rollers that allow the lens to rotate while mounted. The STRATUS line is great for camera operators or indie filmmakers using Sony a6500, a7II, a7III, or Panasonic GH4/5 series camera bodies.

  • Ikan Canvas Fabric LED Light Kits

    HOUSTON, Texas (March 27, 2018) - Ikan announces the release of the new CB8 canvas fabric LED light. The latest light is flexible enough to be used in unconventional or compact spaces, but the light also functions as a full light kit. The CB8 comes in both two point and three point kits, which include light stands, bags and a soft box diffuser.

    "Sometimes the hardest part of videography is carrying the equipment," says Product Manager Barry Garcia. "The best part about our new bi-color fabric lights is the portability and the light weight when traveling with them."

    The lightweight and portable LED light is bi-color between 3200K and 5600K. The CB8 hits a high mark of 95 on both the Color Rendering Index (CRI) and Television Lighting Consistency Index (TLCI). The light can be used in a variety of videography including broadcast, music, documentary, filmmaking, corporate video and more.

    HOUSTON, Texas (March 27, 2018) - Ikan announces the release of the new Helia HF150 LED fresnel light. The Helia is a bi-color light, allowing for use in a variety of videography including broadcast, music, documentary filmmaking, corporate video and more.

    "Since the light is a bi-color Fresnel, the HF150 light will give a lot of broadcast studios a chance to mix color more," says Product Manager Barry Garcia.

    The Helia is a 4" fresnel glass fitted with a bi-color 150 watt COB LED bulb with virtually no heat displacement. The HF150 is equivalent to a 650 incandescent watt. Ikan's newest light hits an impressive mark of 96 on both the Color Rendering Index (CRI) and Television Lighting Consistency Index (TLCI).

    Canon U.S.A. Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced the launch of three new portable zoom 4K UHD broadcast lenses: the CJ24ex7.5B, CJ18ex7.6B and CJ14ex4.3B. These new additions are compatible with 4K UHD broadcast cameras that have 2/3-inch sensors. Flanking the existing UHDxs series of 4K portable broadcast lenses that deliver excellent optical performance, these three lenses usher in the newly launched UHDgc series that will broaden 4K UHD shooting options. These new lenses provide 4K UHD imaging quality at a price point that is more accessible to the majority of the broadcast market. Additionally, the new lenses provide impressive UHD optical performance while maintaining a compact and lightweight design to meet a wide range of needs for video productions that include documentaries, sports, events and news coverage.

    The CJ24ex7.5B, CJ18ex7.6B and CJ14ex4.3B utilize Canon’s proprietary optical design technology featuring materials such as fluorite and Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) glass to achieve high 4K UHD performance across the entire zoom range. In addition, the lenses support the wide color gamut approved by the ITU-R BT.2020 UHD broadcasting standard. These features are essential to HDR imaging. The lens ergonomics and digital servo operational controls are similar to previously announced Canon portable zoom lenses, providing users with maximum mobility in a variety of shooting situations.

    Sennheiser will be launching a new headset series at NAB – the 300 PRO line. Available this summer, the new series consists of two monitoring headphones and three headset/microphone combinations for camera work and backstage communications. For wireless bodypacks, Sennheiser will be showing brand-new headset and lavalier microphones. Also available by summer 2018, these have been designed and fine-tuned to be great sounding, reliable workhorses for medium-sized broadcasters, theatres and houses of worship. Additionally, Sennheiser will preview an exciting new wireless solution for recording high-quality audio on mobile devices.

    Sennheiser’s range of camera microphone systems has been further expanded with the introduction of the new evolution wireless G4 series, with the new generation now offering two sub-lines, complementing the acclaimed 100-p series with the new 500-p series. The other wireless systems on show are the flagship Digital 9000 and Digital 6000 series, including the digital/analog EK 6042 camera receiver, as well as AVX, which works in the license-free 1.9 GHz band.   • Atomos Shogun Inferno and Sumo19 unlock the Panasonic AU-EVA1 5.7K RAW output

    Melbourne, Australia – 02 April 2018 – Panasonic’s AU-EVA1 is a great Super35 cine camera with excellent low light capabilities – winning wide-spread acclaim since its launch last year.

    Now users will be able to unlock the true potential of this amazing camera and its low noise sensor by combining it with the Atomos Shogun Inferno HDR monitor/recorder, thanks to the release of Panasonic’s free RAW output upgrade. The results take the camera to another level of performance, giving you images with maximum dynamic range in pristine quality.

    Users will soon be able to capture stunning 5.7K RAW imagery direct from the sensor at up to 30 fps over the 6G SDI connections and record it to reliable, affordable SSD media. Full details will be revealed by Atomos at the NAB 2018 show this month.

    In 4K resolution you can record up to 60fps from the RAW output in production ready Apple ProRes, Avid DNxHR,or CDNG RAW up to 2Kp120 or 4Kp30. The resulting frames are super clean, detailed and capable of withstanding heavy grading.

    The Shogun Inferno also supercharges the EVA1’s slow motion performance. It can record the RAW output at up to 240fps in 2k/HD, direct to Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHR. Perfect for sports, wildlife and a wide range of other uses.

    All these features will come in an AtomOS upgrade for the Shogun Inferno and Sumo19 to be released at NAB April 2018. This will be offered for free as part of our continuing commitment to our users.

    Of course, recording is only half of the equation, accurate monitoring is also essential. Luckily, the Shogun Inferno also offers state-of-the-art monitoring for both HDR and SDR recording with its 7” 1500nit high brightness panel with the Sumo19 at 19” and 1200nits.

    Take the guesswork out of exposure in HDR or Log with Atomos’ unique AtomHDR system which shows a massive 10+ stops of dynamic range on either screen. The display is colour accurate and can be calibrated over time using a X-rite i1Display Pro probe. Benefit from AtomoOS’ full range of monitoring tools like waveform, vectorscope, false colour, audio level meters and pixel-to-pixel magnification.

    Users can also load and store LUTs directly into Shogun and Sumo for complete creative control, production to post.     WAYNE, NJ (April 4, 2018) – JVC Professional Video, a division of JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation, today announced the GY-HC900 “CONNECTED CAM” broadcast camcorder, which features three 2/3-inch CMOS image sensors for full HD imagery, as well as enhanced connectivity for a complete news-over-IP workflow solution in the field. The camera is being demonstrated at the 2018 NAB Show (Booth C4315), which runs April 9-12 in Las Vegas, Nev.

    When paired directly with the optional ProHD Dockable Bridge or via Wi-Fi with any ProHD Bridge unit, the new GY-HC900 allows on-air talent to conduct a two-way interview with return video while streaming live to air without any external boxes or backpacks. It is JVC’s first camera featuring a new communications engine that optimizes both image processing and IP performance. The engine enables simultaneous recording, low latency streaming, and simultaneous decoding for return video and IFB. Latency can be as low as 500ms for both outgoing and incoming video.

    “JVC’s CONNECTED CAM takes connectivity to the next level and sets a new benchmark for ENG cameras,” said Joe D’Amico, vice president, JVC Professional Video. “Its integrated communications engine truly makes news-over-IP a reality with amazing images and a cost effective, streamlined workflow.”

    The GY-HC900’s complete IP workflow includes streaming performance up to 20 Mbps and built-in Wi-Fi (2.4Ghz/5GHz) with dual external antennas. The camera also features Zixi™ error correction with automatic repeat request (ARQ) and SMPTE 2022 forward error correction for reliable transmission.

    Beyond ENG, the GY-HC900 is an ideal choice for high-end EFP and studio fiber applications. It works with the FS-900 camera module, which attaches seamlessly to the camera via a 68-pin interface, and feeds 3G-SDI signals, control, audio, sync, and intercom to a base station via fiber.

    Equipped with an industry standard B4 lens mount and four-position optical filter, the GY-HC900 delivers excellent sensitivity (F12 at 60Hz, F13 at 50Hz in extended mode) and high 62dB signal-to-noise ratio (in standard mode). The advanced 2/3-inch CMOS sensors, each with 1920×1080 pixels, combine with an F1.4 prism to produce full HD images. The camera also offers an HDR mode for creative flexibility, as well as up to 120fps 1080p slow-motion recording.

    The GY-HC900 supports native recording of both MPEG-2 at up to 35 Mbps, which is widely used by broadcasters, and H.264 (.MOV), which provides production quality 10‑bit, 1080/60p 4:2:2 footage. Plus, the camcorder records in Sports Exchange Standard formats, so sports organizations can produce HD video with rich metadata that specifically addresses the workflow needs of sports production and video coaching applications.

    With dual memory card slots for SDHC/SDXC media, the GY-HC900 offers redundant, relay, and backup recording modes. It also records proxy resolution video clips for off-line editing or online posts. The camera includes a 3.26-inch OLED color viewfinder, as well as a 3.5-inch LCD panel for menu navigation.

    An integrated 3G-SDI pool feed input allows the GY-HC900 operator to capture video and stream it live simultaneously. Camera functions can also be controlled via web browser or the JVC RM-LP100 remote camera control. The camera also boasts an IPX2 water resistant rating for operation in challenging conditions. Other features include a genlock input, time code in/out, dual 3G-SDI outputs and an HDMI output, three XLR audio inputs, Ethernet and USB ports, wireless audio module slot, and an additional slot for future expansion.

    Available in June, the GY-HC900 CONNECTED CAM with a 20x lens has an MSRP of $18,500, and is also available without lens (GY-HC900CH) at an MSRP of $13,950.

    NEWARK, NJ (April 4, 2018) – Panasonic System Solutions Company of North America (PSSNA) has announced April availability of the AV-HLC100 Live Production Center that combines a 1 ME switcher, remote camera controller (up to eight cameras), graphics overlays, streaming/recording and audio mixer functions to enable easy live streaming with one-person operation.

    The Live Production Center facilitates video and audio creation where a limited number of operators are available, such as university sports, webcasting, live streaming and live event video production. The Center makes one-person operation possible for remote camera shooting to streaming transmission.

    NDI, or Network Device Interface, a technology of NewTek Inc. is an advanced video over IP production workflow, allowing distribution of video across network infrastructure rather than specialized video hardware. The AV-HLC100 acts as a hybrid device, bridging baseband (SDI and HDMI) inputs and outputs, with NDI inputs and outputs allowing users to easily transition to the world of IP.

    The HLC100 supports a wide range of both NTSC and PAL video formats* including 3G-SDI video in1080/59.94p and 1080/50p, and enables cross-conversation on inputs. Eight total inputs are available with the choice of SDI or HDMI for input 1, SDI for inputs 2-4, and NDI for input 5-8. Alternatively, one can utilize NDI for up to all eight inputs so that a system can be configured to match the production environment. There are two SDI outputs, with associated NDI outputs; Output 1 is the program output. Output 2 can be assigned to program, preview or to an AUX bus. The AUX bus is useful as an independent secondary output for clean recording or alternate feed.

    The HLC100 Center works directly with Panasonic PTZ and systems cameras, discovering and deploying them automatically using IP video transport (although SDI may be used as well). It will work with all NDI and NDI|HX capable video sources. Compatible cameras include: the new AW-HN38, AW-HN40, AW-UN70, and AW-HN130 integrated PTZs with NDI|HX, and the AW-HE38, AW-HE40, AW-UE70, AW-HE130 PTZ cameras with available upgrade to NDI|HX. Fully integrated support of NDI|HX, NDI High Efficiency Mode, allows for built-in support of NDI by Panasonic professional PTZ cameras, linking them directly to an NDI network, with automatic detection by the AV-HLC100 Live Production Center, as well as seamlessly integrating them with the hundreds of other NDI-capable products in the marketplace.

    “With the HLC100, high-performance professional operation can be realized even in production environments with few operators, limited space and gear, and no expert staff,” said Delix Alex, Product Manager, PSSNA. “As part of Panasonic’s NDI family of products, the HLC100 contributes to an end-to-end IP workflow with single cable connectivity to NDI|HX-capable PTZ camera models, with ultra low latency video, power, audio/video and tally all over one cable. Users can significantly cut install and setup time and yet continue to deliver high quality production.”

    For remote camera operation, the HLC100’s connection and settings can be easily executed using the Easy IP connection function (fully automatic if the connection is to an NDI-enabled camera), and pan, tilt, zoom, and focus operations can be performed with one hand using the large joystick or two hands in combination with dedicated zoom lever and focus/iris knobs. Up to 100 camera presets can be executed from the hardware panel or on the user interface. Commonly accessed camera control functions such as white balance are available for quick access. For advanced settings, a quick short-cut to the camera web interface is provided, allowing access of almost any setting in a Panasonic PTZ camera.

    The HLC100 also supports RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol), enabling footage to be directly uploaded simultaneously to multiple live streaming services such as YouTube Live and Facebook Live. Most common streaming destinations are pre-configured in a simple menu, with many customization options. Streamed footage can be streamed and recorded at the same time for easy archiving.

    A wide range of video effects is available for quick and easy live production work, including a title function with a design template, a clip player in which video and still image data can be used as materials, still image storage, PinP, and more than 190 transition patterns including 3D-DVE patterns. The built-in titling/CG includes the ability to load built-in preset looks and styles, the easy manipulation of title components, and eight preset slots to quickly move between looks. Skype TX, a specialized video production version of Skype, can be used for remote interviews, providing an effective technique for live events, webinars, lectures and presentations.

    The audio mixer functionality is characterized by a maximum of nine inputs, which can be assigned as a combination of embedded audio on SDI or NDI and mic/line inputs. Each input features a seven-band equalizer, compressor and delay control. The visual mixer interface provides the ability to mix and monitor audio levels and adjust quickly and precisely.

    The highly user-friendly panel includes buttons for various functions including camera control and switching, along with audio mixing. Up to eight video systems can be freely assigned to the crosspoint buttons, enabling them to be selected easily. With the capability to handle IP input and output, the HLC100 also allows for live streaming and recording, all over IP. This hardware panel for camera control and switching is complemented with a newly-designed software user interface that enables Multiview monitoring, graphics overlay insertions, media players, audio mixers and much more. This user interface focuses on simplicity and quick and easy operation of advanced settings.

    Ronkonkoma, NY – April 5, 2018 – The Sigma Corporation today announced the newest accessory for its Cine High Speed 14mm T2 FF Prime Lens – the Clamp-On Ring 162mm COR-11, which extends the front diameter of the lens to 162mm. When attached to a wide-angle matte box compatible with 6.6″ x 6.6″ square type filters such as the ARRI LMB-6 (2-stage), the setup allows cinematographers to film on full-frame cameras without undesired vignetting. The Sigma COR-11 is also compatible with SF Ex-tender SF-E1 (optional) and other third-party accessories. Sigma continues to expand its Cine offering by providing solutions to the increasing demand for cine lenses compatible with digital cinema cameras with large format sensors.
