Video recording is available at a resolution of 1080p, with 29.97/25/24 and 23.98fps available, with the camera recording stereo sound with built-in microphones. There are microphone and headphone sockets, as well as HDMI out. Image stabilization is lens-based, so a tripod or steady base is recommended unless you are using a lens with OIS.

  • Upcoming firmware v3.00, available at the end of February

    Focus bracketing
Allows automatic recording of image series (up to 999 images) with different focus settings is possible. After each triggering, the camera independently shifts the focus plane by the previously set step value (1-10).

Small picture format mode aka FF mode
In the new 35mm format mode, the active sensor area is limited to a 36.0mm x 24.0mm (30.5 megapixel) area in the center of the image. As a result, interchangeable lenses whose image circle corresponds to the 35 mm format can be used even more conveniently. If desired, one of the function keys (Fn) of the GFX 50S can be assigned this function.

Compatibility with H MOUNT ADAPTER G
The new firmware also extends the compatibility of the H MOUNT ADAPTER G with additional lenses and other accessories. A list of compatible products is available on the Internet at: http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/compatibility/mountadapter/

  • Here is an interesting thought, what if Fujifilm released a FF GFX camera that is aggressively priced, perhaps US$1.5K?

People could buy into that, with the intention to gradually grow their collection of GFX lenses to then use on a Medium Format GFX body in the future. This FF GFX would also make the perfect back up body for all the Fujifilm Medium Format shooters!

Fujifilm wouldn't even need to release any FF GFX lenses if they didn't want to, or maybe just a 50mm f1.8 at first? To tide people over as a faster option (as F1.8 on medium format is pricey/rare)

  • @IronFilm

I'll tell you horrible thing. Big costs of FF and larger sensors are defined only by some restrictions of hardware used for silicon wafers exposure and such. Other than that - they are quite simple devices (compare to any modern CPU or even RAM). And cost to manufacture of medium format sensor must be around 5x cost of APS-C sensor, but in reality now it is around 10x. Mean that they have to compensate around $100-150 extra cost. Only other things that add cost are body size (around $10), mount (ala $1) and shutter (ala $10). This is how much more MF body should cost if management kept same margin in dollars.

  • @IronFilm Fuji Rumors reported that Sony sells the sensor alone for $2000.

  • FUJIFILM GFX 50S Ver. 3.30 : End of November 2018

    1. Supports “35mm Format Mode” when using GF Lens and H mount adapter “35mm Format Mode” crops the center of the sensor 36.0mm x 24.0mm (30.5M) and records JPEG and RAW file.
    2. Improved eye-sensor response
Reduced the time to switch between EVF and LCD when you select “eye-sensor” on the viewfinder display settings.
    3. Supports simultaneous delete for RAW and JPEG files
When RAW / JPEG is selected in the card slot setting (for still image), RAW/JPEG image can be deleted simultaneously. By selecting “OFF”, only the RAW image will be deleted.
    4. Supports EVF and LCD color adjustment
Color of EVF/LCD is adjustable from screen setting menu.
  • All they need to do is to add 4K to this one and watch a significant overnight bump in sales.
