Repair Sony 28-70 fe?
  • Hello!

So I have a brand new camera with the above lens. After one day of stills shooting I can't mount it properly any more. The bayonet is bent. It protrudes on one side of the normally flat ring part. On the camera's side everything is perfect. I ordered it in South Korea, so firstly, do you guys think that I maybe received a knock off? And secondly, is it possible to exchange just the bayonet of the lens without messing with the optics?

    Thanks! Patrick

  • Hmm. Maybe contact the Sony support (for an official list of repair centers / dealers).
You can then send it in (shouldn´t be THAT expensive to repair).

Though: First try to get a replacement through the dealer.
    (Btw.: I don´t think that it´s a knock-off - But do you have pictures?)

  • I've written to the ebay seller and I'm now waiting for a response.

I unscrewed the bajonet and the problem is both a bend in the metal and a broken thread (plastic) beneath it. What I don't get is that I'never dropped it?! It was 200 €, new on ebay, on Amazon it is about double that price.
