“Now, in a world where 4K shooting is fast becoming the norm, we’ve decided to go for a new breakthrough, and try to create another disruption in the industry and hit like the DVX100. I hope you’ll come to the Panasonic booth at NAB and see what we have in mind.”

  • @OBgene

Well, actual source did not tell anything like this.

  • meant to say a new 4K camera from Panasonic, not necessarily a new GH4. apologies.

  • @OBgene

I changed source link to actual source, as EOSHD did nothing except wrong speculations.

And they clearly said that it will be video camera.

  • GH4H is just the model name of a kit with the 14-140.

  • Sony HDC 4300 - 4K camera with 3 2/3" chips

Perfect camera for 4K sports shooting and documentaries. I think it would be good for scenery videos as well since I'd love to use it for that.

  • This is going to be my first purchase of this year: DJI Ronin-M, the gimbal for me. Something I have being waiting for. Basically a smaller version DJI Ronin. And priced under $2000. Looks like DJI got their sh**t together.

JVC Professional Video, a division of JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation, will showcase its new 4KCAM product line at the 2015 NAB Show (Booth C4314), which runs April 13-16 in Las Vegas, Nev. The three new models – the GY-LS300 Super 35mm camcorder, GY-HM200 streaming camcorder, and GY-HM170 compact camcorder – accommodate a variety of workflows with the latest advancements in 4K imaging and efficient encoding for seamless workflow integration

“The 4KCAM product line follows many of the same principles that have made our ProHD product line so successful over the last decade,” said Dave Walton, assistant vice president, marketing communications. “Our three new camcorders make ultra-high definition 4K affordable with native file recording to non-proprietary media cards. They deliver exceptional imagery and empower visual creativity for all levels of professional production.”

The flagship camera for the 4KCAM product line, the GY-LS300, is designed for cinematographers, documentarians, and broadcast production departments. It features JVC’s 4K Super 35 CMOS sensor and an industry standard Micro Four Thirds (MFT) lens mount. JVC’s unique Variable Scan Mapping technology electronically adapts the active area of the Super 35 sensor to provide native support of PL and EF mount lenses, among many others. As a result, using third-party lens adapters, the camera provides almost limitless lens options.

Both the GY-LS300 and GY-HM200 include a built-in HD streaming engine with Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity that allows live HD transmission directly to hardware decoders, the Wowza Streaming Engine, and the ProHD Broadcaster server powered by Zixi. With support for various streaming protocols including RTMP, the cameras can also stream directly to popular Web sites and content delivery networks (CDN) including Ustream.

JVC’s most affordable streaming camcorder, the GY-HM200 is ideal for corporate video as well as ENG applications. It features a 1/2.3-inch BSI CMOS chip and built-in 12x zoom lens (24x dynamic zoom in HD mode) with optical image stabilizer. It delivers 4K Ultra HD, 4:2:2 Full HD (50Mbps), and SD imagery. The GY-HM200 and the GY-LS300 also include dual XLR audio inputs that are mic/line switchable with built-in phantom power, an integrated handle with hot shoe and dedicated microphone mount, and SDI and HDMI video outputs

Compact but powerful, the GY-HM170 features a heavy duty body with comprehensive video profile settings and controls for professional use. Keeping with JVC’s commitment to native file workflows, it records 4K Ultra HD as H.264 files, and can record HD and SD footage in a variety of resolutions and frame rates. Other features include an integrated 12x optical zoom lens with two ND filters, built-in stereo microphone and 3.5mm audio input, and live 4K UHD output through a built-in HDMI connector.

  • Panasonic PR

At a press conference today at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention, Panasonic announced a range of new 4K production products, including the AG-DVX200 4K large-sensor, 4/3” handheld camcorder; AK-UB300 4K multi-purpose camera, and the AK-UC3000 4K-ready studio system.

    AG-DVX200 4K Large-Sensor Handheld Camcorder Features Top-End Performance

Offering many top-end features such 4K/60p recording, a 13X optical zoom and a V-Log L gamma curve (12 stops of latitude, target) and delivering a shallow depth of field and a wide field of view, the DVX200 is the ideal companion camera to the company’s groundbreaking VariCam 35 4K camera/recorder.

The DVX200 will be optimized for 4K/HD production and shares the esteemed VariCam family characteristics of filmic tonality and colorimetry, with natural, subtle rendering of skin flesh tones. It will offer a V-Log curve emulating the natural grey-scale rendition of the VariCam 35. The camcorder will be available in Fall 2015 with a suggested list price under $5000.

The company is previewing the AK-UB300 4K multi-purpose camera for remote studio, weather and traffic reporting, image magnification and sports implementations. The UB300 is equipped with a one-inch MOS sensor that outputs a UHD signal up to 3840x2160/59.94p, with the ability to simultaneously output HD (up to 1080/59.94p).

Also shown for the first time is the AK-UC3000 4K-ready studio system, targeted at studios and productions requiring high-end functionality at an affordable price. The UC3000 outputs a UHD signal up to 3840/2160/60p, while also delivering superior picture quality in HD. The camera’s B4 mount accommodates the gamut of existing 2/3-inch lenses to maximize customers’ return on investment in existing lenses, and allows a wider and more economical choice of glass for sports, concerts and similar applications.

At NAB, it was announced that the award winning LUMIX GH4 will have firmware update (Ver.2.2) available later this month, enabling recording anamorphic video content. Unlike complex digital post processing needed to achieve the classic Hollywood look, many effects that have became so popular with anamorphic film capture can now be achieved optically in the LUMIX GH4.
