How to get rid of glare?

    I have a lamp that I use to light my video shoots. It has 4 bulbs on it that are able to move/flex in any direction. The trouble is, I have to bring these bulbs REALLY close to my camera to get decent exposure. This creates a lot of nasty glare from the bulbs on the item I'm shooting. It might look fine one second, but if I tilt or turn the item, tons of glare pops in. Which is HORRIBLE for video.

    Any idea how I can fix this?

    Don't aim the reflection of the bulb at the lens. Simple. Use diffusion. If you can, use dulling spray on the object.

    Would a softbox lighting kit work?

    If so, do you have any recommendations for models?

    I just bought a scrim kit thats rather useful for this sort of thing.

    I was going to buy a Scrim Jim which would have been expensive, I used the online chat at wex.co.uk and they suggested the Lastolight stuff, which is good (but hard to find on their website unless you know where to look).

    I do have a pair of softboxes, but the scrim kit is just more useful because it has a reflector as well.

    You probably don't want watch the whole of the better half's homework, but you'll see a shiny screen in the background that doesn't reflect the lights:
