  • A prop audition is basically a meeting where you go over the entire art department script-breakdown and show the actual props to the director and department heads for approval. For instance, to see if a director likes a character's backpack and if it's suitable with the wardrobe that they have planned.

  • Great. I've added that to my checklist. I think you'd usually do that anyway in some way or form, but it seems like a typical thing that falls between the cracks in a hectic pre-production process. The last few days before a shoot need to be organized almost as well as the shoot - and a prop-audition should be penciled in.
